About Mystery of the Ancients: Deadly Cold Collector's Edition
It's been too long since you've seen your best friend Kira, so of course you jumped at the chance to visit after she invites you to scenic Baumholder for the weekend. You've barely arrived and met her new husband Victor when a freak blizzard sets in, ruining a perfect summer day. When a dark tower of ice rises from the city square, ice giants rain down on the streets, freezing everyone and everything in their path. Who is controlling them and what do they want? ✦ AI summary
Players praise the game's atmospheric artwork, engaging story for a puzzle game, solid mechanics, and well-designed hidden object scenes and minigames. However, common complaints include that it's on the easier side, feels somewhat shorter than expected for the price, has abrupt story endings, and lacks the ability to customize dialogue skipping. The game is generally recommended for casual players and those seeking story-driven puzzle experiences, though some suggest waiting for a discount.
I loved this game, mainly because of the fantastic atmosphere (a cold and dangerous winter to defeat) and the solid plot (it's one of the few puzzle games that has an engaging and consistent story). The other aspects of the game are great as well: sensible mechanics, very good HOPs and minigames, nice graphics and music. Difficulty-wise it is rather on the easy side, recommended for beginner or casual players.
this game is the best
I liked the artwork a lot. It was well-executed and helped create a haunting atmosphere. I enjoyed most of the games and puzzles. The story was interesting but suffered from abrupt endings in both the main game and the bonus game. At almost 5 hours, the length is at a minimum. I would recommend this title on discount.
i enjoyed this game it was an easy play even being on advanced. But overall I thought the story line was good.
This is Mystery of the Ancients #4. Though it seems like a different team made this one, it's still excellent. The story is the best in the series so far, and once again graphics, animation, and gameplay are all terrific. It does seem a bit shorter than previous entries in the series, but still lots of good content. Strongly recommended.
An a bit uninspired member of this great series. Especially the story is not that great and uninvolving. The game play is great as ever. The only drawback is the fact you can't click away part of the dialog: Or hear all or skip all.
