Mythos (2022)

It's hard for me to believe that Mythos is 20 years old. [list] [*]It has WASD movement with fully rebindable controls. [*]It has auto-salvage and auto-identify. [*]Full camera control, even going so far as having a pseudo-3rd person mode. [*]It's got a fair amount of class and skill variety. At least as much as the original Torchlight. [*]There's native support for 21:9 with no UI issues whatsoever. [*]There's UI scaling options for people on 4k monitors. [/list] We didn't even know we would want or need any of this when they were making it. Testament to how far forward Flagship was looking when they were making their Tugboat engine. After playing for a few hours, I genuinely think this was a generational fumble by Hanbitsoft. Especially after seeing the huge success of the Torchlight games since. In it's current form, this version of the game seems to be a mash-up of about a dozen different version of Mythos. For example, there's still an NDA from the Flagship Closed Beta in the game files. There's some untranslated text, so far it hasn't been an issue. You'll quickly find out even though hey're in English half the skill descriptions aren't accurate anyway. At least respecs are…

Mythos is a Diablo like game, that was developed by one or some of the creators of Torchlight, before they went to work on the said game project. This game was built initially to be a mmorpg, but this version was modified to be playable on single player. To begin with, the game has partial english translation, so part of the game is still in korean. The lack of translation can end up affecting quests, from their texts to objective display, and also classes, including the description of what their skill does. Due to the game not having any kind of translation patch or anything, can be quite troublesome to figure out what something does, or what a quest want you to do. Due to the game being made to be a mmorpg, it is filled with quests asking you to go do something. That's the primary source of gold and experience in the game, unless you want to grind. Some of the quest texts, like mentioned above, are untranslated, so it can be hard to figure out the objective. Still, this game was made as an mmorpg, so one can try figuring out how to complete the objective on trial and error. Either the objective is acquired by killing monsters on the field, either by destroying rocks or plan…

game is a fun little rpg it use to be an mmorpg, but now a days, u can just look at it, as an single player, diablo style loot based rpg. with mmo elements with how quests work & how it plays, but all online aspects of the game are long since dead. still a fun little rpg.

Just soo much of this game is in Korean and so you can't understand what you need to do in it and progress in the game. Some of it is is in English, but damn didn't someone at steam verify that the game has English text, isn't that somebodies job?

ITS AS GREAT GAME!! Anyways there is still some work that needs to be done like translations. but its a great game. i'm lvl 12
