Mytosis is an incremental evolution simulator developed and published by Egret Studios, LLC that takes a unique approach to the idle game genre. Instead of focusing on building industries, collecting currencies, or expanding empires, the game centers entirely on the development of life itself. Players begin with a primitive organism and gradually guide its growth through genetic advancement, mutations, and evolutionary choices. The result is a surprisingly engaging experience that combines scientific inspiration with the satisfying progression systems that define incremental gaming. At the heart of the game lies a simple but effective concept. Players generate DNA, which serves as the primary resource for all forms of advancement. Early progression feels modest and deliberate, mirroring the slow beginnings of biological development. It's a perfectly serviceable idle game, but there isn't much variety. There's a handful of upgrades, and half of them are just the same thing but slightly better. The evolution tree is extremely shallow. Less of a game, and more of a fun visual. A few bugs, such as needing to close the evolution tree to buy the next upgrade in a line, poor performance, wider monitors meaning that the back buttons get obscured, and upgrades not updating the price as you buy them until you hover off and back on.

A lot of potential. The theme is good, and the concept is cool, but it is too simple to keep you engaged. There are also a lot of visual bugs that make the game hard to look at, particularly the skill tree and the flash when clicking the fungi. Also, the fact that the game pauses unless it is your active window is something that should be fixed.
