Really enjoyed this one! It's one of the classic creepy Nancy Drew games, though not nearly as scary as Ghost of Thornton Hall or Shadow at the Water's Edge. The characters were enjoyable, there were a lot of funny moments, the puzzles were decent and there was even some interesting Nancy and Ned development I didn't expect. Definitely recommend!

Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse is a captivating point-and-click mystery adventure developed and published by HeR Interactive that transports players to the shadowy halls of Castle Finster, an ancient Bavarian fortress burdened by generations of unsettling legends. Drawing inspiration from European folklore, the story centers on the mysterious resurgence of a fearsome beast believed to emerge whenever disaster threatens the castle's noble family. Rather than leaning heavily on horror, the game crafts its suspense through uncertainty, historical intrigue, and an investigation that gradually peels back layers of deception. The result is an engaging detective adventure that rewards curiosity and logical thinking from beginning to end. The narrative unfolds at a steady pace, introducing a cast of intriguing suspects whose personalities, motives, and hidden agendas keep the mystery unpredictable. Every conversation provides subtle clues while raising fresh questions, encouraging players to examine each statement carefully instead of taking anything at face value. The story does an excellent job blending mythical superstition with grounded detective work, making it difficult to determine …

Oh baby! Another banger! This one had big shoes to fill in following up Shadow at the Water's Edge and it certainly did a good job of it! The danger feels real at times, the characters all feel like they could be the culprit, the story/lore are front and centre, the puzzles are fun and engaging (for the most part) and I still think about the minigames from this one. Not to mention the S-tier soundtrack! Only real criticism is that there are a couple stinkers in the puzzle department but those are few and far between. Overall, this one's in my top 5 Nancy Drew games 9/10

The game was arduous and tedious. Also, it was very bizarre. The subplot involving Nancy Drew's relationship issues felt absurd and entirely unnecessary. The best part was purchasing snacks from the food machine at the gift shop.
