About NECROPOLIS: BRUTAL EDITION
Necropolis: Brutal Edition is a hardcore third-person rogue-lite where you delve into a procedurally-generated dungeon, craft gear, and fight to survive before inevitable death sends you back to try again. The Brutal Edition adds a new character class, sprawling Black Forest biome, expanded enemy variety, and rebalanced progression for the ultimate challenging dungeon-crawling experience, playable solo or with up to 3 friends.
The BRUTAL EDITION is the definitive NECROPOLIS experience. HERE’S WHAT’S NEW:
- The Brute - a formidable new player character
- The Black Forest - a completely new wintry outdoor biome to explore
- Deadly new enemies and improved AI behaviors
- Greatly expanded environmental variety, including new traps and gameplay
- Clearer descriptions for all items in the game, including weapons, armor, recipes, potions, and magical codexes
- Improved game balance and loot economy
- New weapons, armor, potions, scrolls, and more!
NECROPOLIS combines third-person action with Rogue-lite dungeon-delving for a game that’s fast-paced and addictive, yet diabolically hardcore. Adventure alone, or with up to 3 friends in a magical deathtrap that reconstructs itself each time you play. Craft, equip, explore, and fight to stay alive as you delve deeper and face ever-greater threats in the twisting halls and endless chasms of the NECROPOLIS. Have no doubt, you’re going to die - often! - but you’ll improve your combat skills, available upgrades, and dungeon know-how with every playthrough, bringing you one step closer to the exit. (Warning: “Just one more time” mindset can be addicting.)
IN NECROPOLIS, DEATH IS...
- ...PERMANENT. Game Over? Jump right back in with a new adventurer and try again!
- ...DIFFERENT EVERY TIME. A new procedurally-generated dungeon with every death.
- ...BETTER WITH FRIENDS. Drop-in / drop-out CO-OP multiplayer for up to 4 players!
- ...MONSTROUS. Gemeaters, Changelings, Hoardmen, and more - they exist to kill you.
- ...NOT WITHOUT PERKS. Each new dungeon is littered with powerful weapons, armor, and upgrades to wield against your foes. (And there’s crafting, too!)
- ...UNAVOIDABLE. But don’t worry, this NEXT playthrough is totally the one. We’ve got a good feeling about it.

GREAT GAME!! Only negative reviews are focused on the devs "abounding" the game. Not a valid argument. I'd much rather this beautiful game be left alone than barded with updates and micro transactions, which could have been SO easy with what kind of game this. 10/10 would recommend. Fun with friends, Procedurally generated maps so it doesn't get old fast. This game does not deserve a "mixed" review status, which is why I decided to even make a review, this game is great!!7 found this helpful
Its abandoneware.4 found this helpful
It's abandonware. Amazing concept and game but the Devs are total and complete morons who won't take the roughly 15 minutes necessary to come up with a patch to make the gameplay better. It's a genuine shame. Don't buy under any circumstances unless magically the devs come back and actually do their jobs.3 found this helpful
Really fun game! Hard at times but very fun!2 found this helpful
Necropolis is a 10 year old contentless console tier slasher brawler with full AAA pricing... charging $30 for a 10 year old game is nuts. Especially when the game has no content, and it's all procgen algorithms... endlessly repetitive. Play the game for 10 minutes and you've played the whole thing. It's a fantasy/cartoony themed third person hack and slash that feels like a console game but got released exclusively on PC. Now, I think we owe a debt of gratitude to HBS for making the Battletech game and not screwing it up, major kudos there, but this train wreck dropped my impression of them down to the basement. They pretty much stopped working on the game very shortly after they delivered it, and for me, maybe this is a Windows 11 thing, the game is a sluggish, janky mess. With issues that will never be patched. For me, annoyingly, the character would just randomly spin around... makes no sense but that's incredibly frustrating. So if you ignore my warnings (and those from other reviewers), and buy this massively overpriced, decade old game, you might not even be able to play it properly. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements…1 found this helpful
