I finished this game twice. The first time was in 2019 with one friend. One particular boss took us so many attempts that our friendship briefly entered its own boss phase. We spent more time blaming each other than actually fighting the thing. The second time was years later with two different friends. Turns out having teammates with functioning frontal lobes makes a huge difference. Remnant somehow manages to throw you into what feels like Mad Max, then an H.R. Giger nightmare, then another world that looks like Pandora decided to have a bad day. The art direction is fantastic, the music is great, and the gunplay has a satisfying weight that a lot of looter shooters never quite achieve. The story? It's... there. It makes a lot more sense if you've played Chronos: Before the Ashes. Which, statistically speaking, you probably haven't. Thankfully you don't need to. Bosses are mostly excellent, although a few attacks have hitboxes that seem to have diplomatic immunity from physics. Every now and then you'll swear you dodged something, only for the game to politely disagree. The real star, though, is co-op. Great game! Love the randomized open world you get when playing the first time. Gives more replay value cause in the end, the items or armor you end up getting may be better ones on the next game! Has good balance between guns/long range weaponry (plenty of ammo refills/ammo boxes too) and melee weaponry. Good voice acting as well. Give it a go! I advise to get the DLC for a complete and full adventuring experience.
