At its core, it's simply a snake game with a Halloween skin that has the same progression as your usual mobile app. Which is not a bad thing! This is a fine time waster! The controls, though, are very slow. Even on a controller you think this should work on a dpad, but no you need to use the joysticks. There are no options in-game to customize or fine-tune your gamepad (thank heavens for Steam Input API). The question is: should you spend real money on this? The answer is no. This is the type of game that will eventually go free or be part of a larger bundle as filler.1 found this helpful
Bro, I love the concept and I love the game, but the controls are just too bad to be a good experience... You can't have a timer on a puzzle and then have clunky movement 😅
So my view on this is more neutral than yay or nay Reason being is this game punishes you on a keyboard. I honestly was about to give up gaming due to this game. I decided to give it a go cause ive been in a game funk as of late, and thought why not go through some of the random indies I have. Mostly short simple indies to get achievements. I felt like an 80 yr old with a reaction time slower than a turtle on keyboard in this game, and at times was almost about to pull my hair out cause I know I did it perfect but could not get three skulls. The answer to this is play this with a controller. I was stuck on one level, which the game does not really show you the details or how to use the new mechanics that get randomly tossed at you out of no where. So i went to look up a video for like lvl 94 I believe, and the person who posted it had the whole game recorded in one single video. I decided to see how they did in earlier levels I got level 2 skulls on. I couldnt understand that even with them doing it perfectly like i did, they still had like 3-4 second remaining before it passed the level three skull to go to the lower level 2. So i got the idea to hook up my controller. The react…
The... necro-est worm you ever did see
NecroWorm, developed by postpunkpl and atabiszewski and published by Walkabout, is a darkly whimsical puzzle-arcade title that reimagines the classic “Snake” formula within a graveyard-themed setting. At first glance, the premise appears simple: control a constantly growing worm and consume everything on the board without colliding with your own body. However, beneath that familiar structure lies a carefully constructed series of puzzle-driven levels that require planning, foresight, and spatial awareness rather than pure reflexes. The game blends nostalgia with deliberate design, offering a structured progression across 120 handcrafted stages that steadily increase in complexity. The core mechanic revolves around navigating confined grid-based arenas while collecting every item scattered throughout each level. Unlike traditional endless snake gameplay, NecroWorm transforms the concept into a completion-focused challenge. Each stage functions as a contained puzzle, where the player must determine the correct path to gather all collectibles without trapping themselves. Keys and doors introduce gating mechanics that force route optimization, while switches, teleporters, and environm…
