Neon Arena

"beans rolls" is on a roll: every few days they release another asset flip. This time it's "Neon Arena" which is simply https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/neon-space-fighter-shooting-asteroids-and-spaceships-endless-sci-107048 with a different logo graphic thrown in. This time, the asking price is a bit lower but the asset's way cheaper as well so I guess they only new a few fools to break even. The game is a simple asteroids clone with progression - you can (and really need to) upgrade your ship to be able to stay alive. Shoot enemies/asteroids, collect the stars they leave behind, die, upgrade, repeat. That's the gameplay loop and it's fine - but as usual, "beans rolls" made no effort to improve upon the foundation and just hit export. And that's why a bug in the original asset still exists: if you click "Replay" on the game over menu it's very likely your ship won't move. It's a very simple game and something you'd be able to develop within like a day or two but "beans rolls" is not a developer, they're just someone who imports a ready-made asset, clicks "Build" in Unity and is done. Yet another asset flip from the Unity Asset Store, the same as "Neon Space War" also on Steam, also made from the exact same asset kit. Neon Space War (The exact same crap as this game, using the exact same asset kit): https://store.steampowered.com/app/1150270/NEON_SPACE_WAR/ Asset flippers are out of control on Steam, endlessly flooding Steam with zero effort asset flips to make a quick and small amount of money via selling keys on key selling websites. Until Steam stops giving trash asset flippers so many keys, this will never end. In my opinion, Steam needs to stop giving away more than about 25 to 50 keys to ALL developers until they start selling games on Steam. Maybe indie developers should earn 1 Steam key for every game they actually sell on Steam. That should definitely slow down all these asset flips uploaded to Steam every single day. "beans rolls" is just another asset flipper who couldn't code a game if his life depended on it. Sad.
