About Nephilim

A single-player social deduction game in which you must uncover a heretic who has infiltrated a religious order that worships "La Place", a machine that can predict the future, as a god.

The advent of "La Place," a machine that can predict the future, has led humankind to a new level of development.
They worshiped the machine as a god and built the "Garden," a sanctuary surrounded by a huge wall.

For those living outside the wall, the Garden is a utopia.
They have joined the order and continue their devotion, looking forward to the day they will be invited to the place.

You are one of them.
Finally, the day has come when all those years of dedication have come to fruition.
You have been invited to the final step of moving to the "Garden": the "Gathering".
You leave the old house, never to return, filled with the anticipation of your new life in the utopia.
  • Pseudo Werewolf Simulator for One Player

Translation is very bad. Many instances of improper English, double negatives and poorly constructed sentences were everywhere in the hour I played. I was excited to try this game after playing through GNOSIA, but the intro is very slow and doesn't really build properly. You get the opening and the intrigue for it all without any opportunity to delve into what happens before the rote simplistic game play begins. There's no descriptions for your stats and abilities so it's a complete guessing game as to what will make your character better during discussion. Additionally, it's very hard to gauge your impact on discussion as the AI seems to just do whatever it wants and target randomly. Once roles were introduced the AI would constantly claim every role on the first day including the guard which would then be killed by the Nephilim almost immediately. You cannot pick the night kill when you are the evil investigator leaving you at the whims of who the AI decides to kill which is frustrating. I love these types of games, but it really needs a stronger translation before I would consider trying to wade through the myriad of issues present in the social deduction part of the game.…

The translation makes it a bit hard to understand for an English speaking audience. This game seems to have gone the route of directly translating word for word, which isn't helpful. I think they should have someone look over it, just so it makes sense for its English translation.

Admittedly, there's not a lot going for this game, especially if you are an English speaker. The translation isn't very good, and by the time it was released, probably machine translated. However, I still enjoyed the game's characters and trying to parse the story despite that. However, this most recent update hurts my heart. They replaced the original artist's work with AI, and it feels like I've lost the silly friends I've made. Trish, a woman of elegance, now makes weird "cutesy" anime girl faces that doesn't fit her character at all. Angi's jacket is just a confusing mess, lacking the intricate street artwork that was on the original design. Not to mention whitewashing Howard. If they rollback the update I'll change my review to a positive one, but for now, please avoid this AI slop of a game that used to be my friend.

Bought years ago in the hopes that they would get a human to fix the English translation. I thought it seemed charming in its own way and I'd been looking for games like Gnosia. Instead, they've randomly updated it years later to replace all the art with GenAI. In fact, this change even made one character (Howard) suddenly white in the new GenAI "art". Absolutely awful. I tried getting a refund since this isn't what I paid for, but unfortunately it is being denied due to the initial purchase being years ago.

A game like "mafia" or "werewolf" that is closer to the game you would play in RL than town of salem or similar games,. This game is close to gnosis or the first DS death note game but different in several ways. You are essentially stuck in an endless loop where killer(s) hide within your rank and you need to find them out. You have fortune tellers, guards, enemy fortune tellers, traitors and a neutral role and investigators who can tell you if the person you outed was bad or not. You can also false claim fortune teller and investigator. A guard claim is always true and is often suicide as the guard can't guard themselves. Suicide reveals don't affect npcs so much and you only win if you are alive at the end. If you somehow survive, you can announce who you guarded. There are several unlockable conversations that can be had in between rounds if the conditions are right which lead to an ending. You also unlock skills which are more persuasive techniques you can use if you have enough stats. Npcs have certain behaviour patterns and you need to read into those to find killers or important roles although good roles will often claim. Issues with the game: Commands are often singl…

Mystery visual novel where next step is hidden behind repetitive deduction game. To begin, you must create a character. Aside from the name and gender, there is also an implant and background option that impacts the five basic stats. Although stats are important, your choice isn’t set in stone. Regardless of your choice, you are thrust into the midst of a vast unknown. The game makes no attempt to explain the background story or what is going on in the world of the game. To cut a long story short, you and a few other characters are welcomed to the final stage of ascension to the "Garden," a sort of refuge protected from the outside world. Each of your fellow candidates is an unique and quirky character with an intriguing background, occupation, reasons for being there, and, as you will discover throughout the game, skeletons in their closet. You all want the same thing, yet there is no rivalry because everyone will be accepted in the end. You only need to finish the one-week initiation process. However, none of this matters when one of the candidates is killed. The gruesome murder method is immediately linked to the serial killer who opens the victim's skull and steals their …
