今夜无人入眠 No One Sleep Tonight

Weird collection of scenes that unlock more scenes as you play through them. Some quite atmospheric, but it didn't really click that well with me. Would give neutral if i could.

A collection of abstract, minimalistic scenes on the different contexts of “night”, likely across different time periods, circumstances, and people. Most of the experience is a walking sim, but there are some deviations to that. My favorite was the sokobon box mini-game, which was such a neat use of 2D / 3D space that I really want the core concept to be expanded upon as a separate, standalone horror experience. Meeting certain objectives in some scenes unlocks more scenes, and I was able to reach the final scene in around 40 minutes. A short game, but it’s worth checking out if you like works that are contemplative and mix various genres and moods. By the way, most controls aren’t stated in-game so if you’re wondering, all you need is WASD / Arrow Keys, Mouse (Left + Right Click), L-Shift, and Spacebar. 今夜无人入眠 No One Sleep Tonight is a really interesting little game because it does not try to tell one large story. Instead, it turns the feeling of being awake at night into a collection of small experiences, and I liked how different each one can feel. The whole game has this quiet, dreamlike quality that made me want to keep exploring just to see what kind of midnight situation would come next. The gameplay changes depending on the scene, which is easily my favorite idea here. I might be waiting for something, sneaking through a quiet place, driving through the rain or dealing with a completely different situation in another section. I enjoyed that variety because I never felt like I was simply repeating the same mechanics over and over. Each scene has its own rules and its own way of ending, which keeps the experience unpredictable. I also like how objects and choices connect the different nighttime experiences together. What I do during one section can unlock something that leads me into another part of the game, so there is a light sense of discovery even though the individual scenes are very short. I'm so bad at platforming

I found this game by pure luck while scrolling in puzzle game. Didn't think much of it until I launched it. The mechanism of the gameplay is just amazing, and I wish more games used those types of mechanism. Overall this was a very fun and interesting gameplay and I'm sad that I already reached the end because it was really good.
