The game begins with you regaining consciousness inside a room, completely unaware of how you ended up there. A leaflet left on the table identifies the place as a motel, yet the atmosphere immediately feels unsettling because there’s no sign of other people, and most of the doors are locked tight. After some effort, you manage to escape the confines of your room, only to receive a chilling phone call from Rose, the receptionist. She informs you that the motel’s guests have been attacked and murdered by an unknown murderer, and she needs your help. At first glance, the game might appear to be just another entry in the long list of horror-themed titles that saturate the market. However, it shares more with adventure games than traditional survival horror. While there are familiar elements, such as freely moving around darkened rooms, shining a flashlight to illuminate gloomy corners, and interacting with your surroundings, the structure and mechanics lean toward problem-solving. Objects in the environment can be interacted with, though they are not conveniently marked. Instead, you must carefully explore the location, guiding the small dot at the center of the screen over areas …

This was a fun little title. The puzzles were pretty approachable and easy enough to follow without feeling too easy and never too difficult to parse either. The motel makes for an interesting setting to explore and I appreciated the story as it was delivered. Would recommend.

Do you like horror games but hate being chased? This game is for you. When I first played the demo for No Vacancy Tonight, I was unsure if I would play the full version since I wasn't sure the horror level. When the dev reached out and provided me with a steam key I decided to give the full game a go and I'm so glad I did. This game is an amazing horror puzzle game! The best part was not being chased by anything lol Most games that are listed as psychological horror always end up having something that chases you. To me psychological horror should be things that keep your mind wondering what is lurking around the next corner, but nothing is ever there. The atmosphere and setting are both creepy and unnerving. I enjoyed the puzzles and while some were challenging it was nothing that was too hard to solve. The story was interesting and the ending was something I wasn't expecting. Less “horror” and more “suspense,” which honestly made it more enjoyable. No Vacancy Tonight felt like checking into a hotel that really does not want you to check out. The puzzles were clever and sometimes made me stop and think, but I appreciated that there were usually clues nearby acting like handy room-service hints. It hit that sweet spot of challenging without ever feeling unfair. While the game had a few jumpy moments, it leaned more on tension and atmosphere than outright scares, which I loved. I would rather feel on edge than spend half my time bracing for cheap jump scares, and this game absolutely nailed that balance. At its heart, this is a walking sim dressed up with some fun escape-room style puzzles and a story that kept me hooked until the end. It is not the longest stay you will ever book, but it is definitely one worth reserving. Really well made game. Only complaint I have are that there's a bug when you open the cash register and find out Pete's dead, your camera gets stuck and you cant look down enough to grab the paintings in his room, so I had to restart the game. Also like 15 percent of the solutions to the puzzles are very vague and the relation between them doesn't make a whole lotta sense IMO and there are a couple of panels or spots that you cant really tell you need to interact with but its not a lot, but those could just be my weak puzzle solving skills But I still enjoyed it for what it was
