Nova: Cloudwalker's Tale is one of those hidden gems that has gone under the radar. Devised by only 3 people and being their first game, I can't wait for future games from them. The Cloudwalker's tale is open to interpretation. It opens with the Cloudwalker being woken up and witnessing the destruction of a tree of stars exploding....a supernova event. The Cloudwalker has to track down all the star shards throughout the cosmos and restore the tree. There are 134 shards to find and over 70 puzzles to solve. Gameplay is simply collecting the shards and going to the exit. Sounds easier than it is. Your best friends are the white clouds that you can traverse easily, you cannot step onto storm clouds which often block your way and then you have two types of crystal clouds which dissolve once you step on them. This is not an easy game; in fact it is quite difficult at times. Some puzzles you can solve in two minutes, others take an hour to wrap your head around. I literally got a brainache trying to work things out! I found that I had to retrain my brain to think outside the box, and once that sunk in after several sessions, the puzzles became much easier. It was a similar expe…12 found this helpful
What a sweet little game. Move tiles around to guide the character through levels to pick up crystals and to the exit. Some surprisingly great puzzles and neat mechanics that combine into novel concepts. Nothing too crazy hard, but hits that sweet spot without dragging its feet. Easy purchase for 10 hours of fun.2 found this helpful
A challenging and smart grid-movement puzzler. The game's well crafted and engaging; there's not a lot of mechanics but they are gradually introduced and thoroughly exploited; this and the tight level design make for a great, demanding puzzle solving experience. It's structured in a way so that a lot of levels are optional, especially harder ones, this makes the progression feel more free but also weaker (there's no "bad" levels so I recommend solving all of them anyway). Easy, immediate controls, beautiful artstyle and nice music wrap up this great package. Definitely recommended for puzzle enthusiasts.1 found this helpful

A friend and I discovered this game in a small indie game convention, and after trying the demo, we needed to buy it instantly. Starting with a very simple mechanical premise, this game is able to achieve very well designed puzzles. With more than 80 levels, it's able to avoid repetitivness adding new mechanics every now and then, keeping things fresh and exciting. The clean drawing style with very small and pleasing color palettes, hand in hand with the slow paced melancholic music and satisfying sound design, help bring a calming atmosphere and a relaxing experience to the whole game. It also has a very opened-to-interpretation kind of story that adds more to this atmosphere (though I'm a little too dumb to understand this kind of storytelling). Overall,I think it's a very well-rounded game, and knowing that it's been made by only three people and that it's their first game, can only make me hope for them to be able to keep creating such interesting pieces in the future.
I've completed maybe close to half the game, then got stuck and didn't finish it. It gets harder and harder to the point you reach levels that you have no idea how it's even possible to complete them. The solutions exist, of course. Couldn't find any guides on Youtube to continue forward so I just left it. Extremely challenging and difficult. For the puzzles I did complete, I really did enjoy it but didn't think I'd hit a wall that soon. If you're looking for a real challenge and mind bender, I highly recommend this game. Didn't finish it, probably won't, but if you think you can figure them all out without a guide, go for it. 10/10 game!
