About Nowhere Patrol
Nowhere Patrol is a boss rush game with bullet hell and platforming elements. Inspired by classic action arcade games with its steep difficulty curve and non-stop action. The game is a true boss rush. Expect nothing but boss battles, and lots of deaths.
In this story you follow the members of Nowhere Patrol as they exterminate monsters in a castle. The monsters were awakened by something strange, and that something isn't too friendly.
Neither are the creatures in your way.

This review is for those that plays on a steam deck. The game is fun to play especially when you start to understand the bosses pattern. The issue I have with the game is not being able to play the game at first (need a community layout to play the game) but the main issue being random lagging that can cost you a run like a no hit run including getting kicked towards my library at a time and a no hit run I had restart on due to my character being stuck in the air at a cutscene after just beating the boss. The gameplay is fun overall but on the steamdeck, it is a little irritating to play on4 found this helpful
Beautiful looking game with terrible controls that made it unplayable & annoying for me. I HATED the forced training segment, which I was forced to do TWICE because I couldn't skip it. There's was no default gamepad mapping, so I had to spend ten minutes mapping the keyboard to the controller. Once I started playing I found the characters seems to be given bad control on purpose to make the game more challenging. No ability to change directions or jump with any precision, every time I pressed fire the character also DASHED for some reason, then FROZE in mid-air - how about just JUMPING? That would be useful. so I had to constantly stop myself from jumping right into the enemy or freezing mid-air. This would be a great game if the jump button just JUMPED, with accuracy & the characters were allowed some agility to actually avoid threats. How about a "NORMAL PLATFORMING CONTROLS DLC?!"1 found this helpful
A short boss rush platforming game that is more forgiving than it initially looks. (+) Simple and tight gameplay (+) Interesting mechanic: if you take down the boss without taking damage, a new phase of the boss opens up. (+) The bosses are varied with good patterns to dodge and fight through. (+) Some of the bosses can be quite challenging, but it never felt unfair. (+) A lot of unlockables! (0) OST is not that good, but that's ok. Put some music and enter the flow. (-) No cloud saves is VERY disappointing :(1 found this helpful
Nowhere Patrol, developed and published by Slugsoft, is a focused action-platformer that takes inspiration from classic arcade design and combines it with the intensity of modern bullet-hell gameplay. Rather than building a lengthy adventure filled with exploration and story-heavy sequences, the game centers almost entirely on a series of challenging boss encounters. This approach gives the experience a clear identity from the beginning, appealing directly to players who enjoy skill-based gameplay and the satisfaction that comes from mastering difficult mechanics. The premise follows the members of the Nowhere Patrol as they investigate a castle overrun by mysterious creatures, but the narrative mainly serves as a backdrop for the game's primary attraction: its relentless battles. The most impressive aspect of the game is its commitment to the boss-rush formula. Every stage introduces a unique enemy encounter that demands concentration, quick reflexes, and pattern recognition. Instead of fighting waves of minor opponents, players are immediately thrown into elaborate showdowns that feel like the highlights of a traditional action game. Each boss features distinct attack patterns a…1 found this helpful
Nowhere patrol felt kinda minimalistic to me. kinda reserved. It felt really really modest. which worked quite well i think. I think that game's visuals were literally perfect. They felt a little nostalgic for whatever era they were nostalgic for, while still very much having their own identity. I kinda felt like the platforming elements were a little underutilized; i didn't really feel like they were much in the game. Nowhere patrol was just really cool.
not too bad of a game overall i just couldn't enjoy it for myself, i wish i could but many of the things in the menu alone don't make sense such as; needing to do boss rush made to actually advance and fight new/any bosses instead of a menu selection for each boss, also i find it odd how only in boss rush mode i was able to fight the next bosses. all in all not a bad game just not for me.
