"Oil Sheik" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam for goodness knows what reason. And I guess at least this one doesn't seem to have toxic mobile app cash shop monetisation, so that's something at least. It wasn't very popular and now nobody plays it, so let's delve into what this is and why that is. What do you do in the game? It's basically a kind of lame and pointless boardgame experience that makes Monopoly look like... well, yeah, Monopoly. Anyway it's basically about simulating the job of an oil baron by placing stuff on the board, mucking around with trading cards and so on. This is a mobile app... it doesn't matter if this was ported to PC before or after the app store release, or even if this didn't even make it to the app stores. This is built for the absolutely lowest of all gaming platforms and must be judged as such... it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We don't spend thousands building gaming rigs so that we can pretend they're iPhones and play iPhone games and mobile apps. The graphics are lacklustre because this was designed for mobile phones, not gaming PC…5 found this helpful
Oil Sheik is a classic feeling board game, the graphics throw it off, but you're likely to enjoy it for a couple of hours if you're the optomizing type.
This looks like it should be a satire game, but I don't see any winks. Are we supposed to think it's cool to invest in fracking companies?
Meh
Cons: Relies on AI-generated images. Pros: If you overlook the AI-generated images, the gameplay is very fun and engaging! I would recommend this game.
This game is as hollow as a Oil Sheiks heart
