Decent game with flaws (potential game-breaking issues) As the trailer looked promising, the dog character is cute, and the game was on 92% off sale, I decided to give it a try. The gameplay is actually quite fun - a platformer with item collecting. While not particularly complex, the developers did a good job of keeping the content engaging without becoming too repetitive. The story revolves around exploring a deserted illegal science lab, but you’re not alone- there are various NPC scientists and creatures. This game offers rich content but I skipped most text, focusing on the action part. At the end can choose to spare or kill, join or leave for different endings. The map isn't particularly big but has secret paths and treasure rooms, some of which contain interesting weapons. Despite its low price, this game doesn’t feel cheap. However, to fully enjoy the game, you’ll need to overlook some flaws. Below, I’ll list some of the issues I encountered, but keep in mind despite these, I still think the game is worth playing. Key Mapping My first impression wasn’t great, mainly due to the uncomfortable keyboard mapping. The default settings are: Right-click to jump (push) and Left-…

Video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=877DDS5K9mw Not crazy about One Dog Story. Poor story, bad structure, and tons of glitches, some of which made me have to quit to menu to continue. Plus, the publisher has engaged in some shady stuff that I go into more detail about in my video. If you want more info in a different format, then here's another Steam review by a guy named Dravvad did his own deep dive. Dravvad's post: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Dravvad/recommended/588110/

Sorry but there's a game wrecking error that makes the game unbeatable. You cannot get thru a laser and I checked at least 10 times but I bet they put a rusty door instead of the lever in the last section...

One Dog Story is an indie action-adventure platformer developed and published by Big Way Games that blends retro sensibilities with modern design ideas, delivering a quirky and emotionally tinged journey through a ruined sci-fi world. From its opening moments, the game establishes a strong hook by placing the player in control of EO-43, a genetically engineered dog-like creature who awakens in an underground laboratory with no memory of his past. This amnesiac setup immediately aligns the player’s curiosity with the protagonist’s, turning exploration into both a mechanical and narrative drive as you search not only for an exit, but for answers about identity, purpose, and the disaster that shattered the world around you. Visually, One Dog Story embraces a pixel art style that recalls classic 16-bit era platformers while still maintaining its own personality. Environments are packed with detail, from decaying laboratory corridors and industrial machinery to strange biological experiments and hostile underground zones. Character sprites are expressive despite their low resolution, and enemy designs range from whimsical to unsettling, reinforcing the game’s offbeat tone. The art dire…

It's tough for me not to recommend a title wherein the main character is a dog when it seems there are several titles exalting the feline above its station (obviously developed by those poor souls who are husks of their prior selves due to some form of sick feline parasite. Essentially a toxo-plasmotic host). But this gaem got the jank, got dem bugs, and it doesnt work on my craptop (yeah thats not a valid critique...whatever, youve probably got the parasite too). Art, sound, and design seem ok for my 40 minute playtime. But i did experience some jank with movement of both character and enemies... 6-10
