About Oneiro

With your mind saturated with horrors from your caretaker, venture to the depths of your nightmares to overcome your fears.

Lucid Dream the 4 Layers of your Labyrinth to reach the end. Each layer gets progressively more difficult and is meant to test your knowledge of the games mechanics. Collect/duplicate items, find powerful weapons, and use gear to conquer your Labyrinth.

Choose a Weapon

Fists, Swords, Karambits, Hammers, and Spears. Out of these, players will be able to find a weapon that suits them the most. Each of the weapons are unique in their own ways, and diverse enough to keep combat fresh and engaging.

Get Creative

Oneiro allows your creativity to shine at any given moment, and nearly every object and mechanic have multiple purposes. You may want to go right up to an enemy to fight them; or perhaps you'll want to use throwing knives to destroy a nearby wall and collapse the ceiling onto them; maybe you'll break through the ceiling and attack them from above.

The Power Behind Items

Items are normally found through treasures, and they play a major role in Onerio by improving the players stats, or granting new abilities. All items can be stacked to multiply their effectiveness, as well. If the player wants to focus their duplications and have 10 midair jumps, or regenerate 20% of their life every 10 seconds, or even causing enemies to explode in a large radius upon death; nothing is stopping them from it.

The "Rogue" Aspects of Oneiro

It's important to clarify...

There is no progression in regards to gameplay. The only thing that'll change between your 1st run and your 100th run is your knowledge and skill with the games mechanics and systems. There are no permanent upgrades, nor anything that will persist between runs.

This game is meant to be difficult but fair, and despite the Labyrinth being randomly generated with each run, you'll notice some subtle patterns and some tricks to help you get around the labyrinth quicker and safer in your future runs. This "learn-and-adapt" loop is what separates a new player from experienced players.

  • 50+ Equipment/Gear to discover and utilize
  • Stack & duplicate items to improve their effectiveness to no limit.
  • 20 weapons split among 5 weapon types(Fists, Swords, Hammers, Spears, and Karambits)
  • 4 Layers of your Labyrinth to explore and conquer

Oneiro also has control bindings, full controller support, as well as Steam Achievements.
Parents have resorted to telling their children horror stories to keep them in check. If a child messes up, they'll formulate a horror story and direct it towards the child specifically. Despite being considered inhumane in some eyes, these parents saw it as a solution to their children's behaviors; ignorant to the psychological damage they were causing them.

These children eventually find themselves at The Island- a remote location thousands of miles to the nearest shoreline. The victims stay at this island until they get over the fears that their caretakers gave them. Once they inevitably go to sleep, they find themselves dreaming up a Labyrinth- a congregation of every fear.

Only by conquering their Labyrinth, will the victim be able to return home.

i just recently had a vasectomy and lobotomy, then i played this game and realized that its not so bad after all. i would like to thank my best friend for this masterpiece of a game, even if i didnt finish it. even if the graphics are ass, even if its unforgiving, i think the gameplay loop is interesting enough for many people to try it out, even if its quiche. 9/10

There is an enemy that sets fire traps, do you counter by backing off and trying to maneuver around them? No, there are torches on the wall that set you on fire anyways There is an enemy that frequently attacks with large AOE attacks, do you counter it by using stunning attacks? No, this specific enemy and only this enemy can still attack even when stunned. You get hit anyways There is an enemy that rapidly fires projectiles in a straight line, do you counter by approaching while keeping to it's flank? No, it suddenly start firing projectiles in a ring around itself. You get hit anyways. You randomly find a shield, do you use it try as a shield? No, You cannot use the shield with any other weapon. Oh, and the shield does not block damage, it's a copy of the sword weapon but worse. Do you just try to mind your own business and find items? Of course not, spiders can randomly lunge at you from across the map, slimes can shoot the floor out from under you (this instantly kills you), the floor can also suddenly break from under your feet because you didn't notice that the specific tile you stepped on had some dirt on it (the choreograph for fragile glass is dirt, not splinters or cracks…

Very solid game that feels like every single aspect of it is handmade, for better or worse. I managed to beat the first boss and I think I am satisfied with that level of progression since this game is surprisingly hard. I very rarely die to enemies. Most of the deaths I have is from spikes or from falling into the void or boss arena immediately. The textures on the spiked walls and breakable floor indicators do not make it easy to spot, even when I take the time to play slowly. I am sure there is a way to consistently get really strong in this game and it might have really cool tech and such, but nevertheless, I had my fun and I may or may not replay this game and see if I can beat it fully or at least reach the final boss.

A one of a kind game with endless experimentation. No matter how much you think you know there's always something new to learn. Each item opens up possibilities to speed up your progression. Great game 10/10 watch out for torches

Oneiro is one of the most unique games concept and story wise that I personally have played in a long while. Gameplay is the perfect balance of challenging with enough reward to keep the player motivated to move forward. There's tons of different gear options so no two runs will ever be the same. Can't recommend the game enough.

Best roguelike I've ever played. Seeing is a skill you develop. Learn more, be smarter, faster, safer. It took me so long to beat it but I finally did it. I can't recommend this enough and it is my go-to example, right alongside Pseudoregalia, of why $70+ games are a scam, and fancy graphics are always bad. The game looks just fine, the ost is awesome, and seriously, one of my favorite games of all time. In my top 10 for sure. People talk about how soulslikes feel good to beat, but really, beating this might be the best I've ever felt about beating a game.
