About Orders of Magnitude
Explore the Universe at All Known Scales
Orders of Magnitude is an immersive educational experience that guides you through the Universe at various scales. Travel along a seamless linear path to explore all known physical sizes, from the cosmic to the subatomic. Explore all that there is, from galaxies and stars to neurons and atomic nuclei. This journey through different scales is based on accurate scientific data, with artistic interpretations used where direct observation isn't possible.
Scientific Accuracy
The content is sourced from reputable scientific databases to ensure accuracy and authenticity. Some of the key resources include:
- Position of nearby 40 000 Galaxies – 2MASS Redshift Survey
- Position of nearby 100 000 Stars – Hipparcos catalogue
- Brain connections – Human Connectome project
- Hippocampus Neural Network – Clarity project
- DNA atom positions – Protein Data Bank
Now Available on PC!
Originally a Virtual Reality (VR) exclusive, Orders of Magnitude now supports a non-VR version for PC. While the VR experience remains the most immersive way to explore the Universe, the PC version is fully functional and offers a rich and detailed journey through space and time.
Experience the Universe Like Never Before
Whether you're exploring the vastness of space in VR or navigating through the cosmos on your PC, Orders of Magnitude offers an unparalleled educational adventure. Dive in and let the wonders of the Universe unfold before your eyes.

Orders of Magnitude is a quietly ambitious and deeply contemplative interactive experience developed and published by Ouroboro Soft Inc. that challenges conventional ideas of what a game can be. Rather than focusing on goals, conflict, or progression systems, it invites players to undertake a guided journey through the vast hierarchy of physical scale, moving fluidly from the immensity of the observable universe down through biological systems and into the subatomic world. The result is less a traditional game and more an interactive visualization—one designed to inspire curiosity, perspective, and a sense of awe at the structure of reality itself. The experience is built around a continuous traversal through orders of magnitude, allowing players to zoom smoothly across extreme differences in size. One moment you are surrounded by sprawling galactic clusters and cosmic filaments stretching across incomprehensible distances, and the next you are descending into the structure of a human body, examining neurons, cells, and molecular bonds before plunging further into atomic and quantum scales. This seamless movement between realms is the defining strength of the experience, creating …1 found this helpful
Good
Beautifully rendered with awesome, concise, and informative detail about the Universe at all scales. A great education tool - highly recommended! Really looking forward to trying it in VR, too.
Amazing experience with great visuals. Puts things in perspective, makes you feel small and humble.
My computer is a low end device and this game always lags so hard it crashes. Would you add an update to change the graphics of the game?
i must be missing something or this is not an open world or a sim. you can scroll into an atom and you can scroll out of the universe, with info in between. no other pathways no other knowledge. 5 mins of reading. i have 4 kids that did like this but for about 10 mins each.
