"Orion: The Eternal Punishment" is a genuinely, but unfortunately poorly made attempt at a boomer shooter. What do you do in the game? The story involves a hunter, Orion, who was turned into a constellation after his death and tasked with hunting corrupted stars. You are given an automatic crossbow and a blunderbuss, and use special abilities and gadgets to progress like a grappling hhook swing. Unfortunately there's almost no polish here, gameplay is slow, sluggish, uneventful and unengaging. It'a amazing that someone worked out how to make a first person shooter into a boring experience, but here we are. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers.
