Scrutinized

This game is actually so much fun! It's really hard and I absolutely love the studio who made the game. It never stopped being terrifying. I will need to attempt (emphasis on attempt) normal as I couldn't have cut it closer on casual. I look forward to playing more of their games and I'm glad I started with this one. I would definitely recommend it if you like a challenge, gathering evidence, and being scared almost constantly! :)

What can you do in 80 seconds? The best sprinters in the world run 100m in about 10 seconds. How many shopping lists can you write, how many trips to the toilet can you make? The meat and potatoes of Scrutinized is the phone hacking, which involves a crappy minigame where you have to move at least one button along a line until you hear a "ping!". Not intellectually exhilarating, but so far so good. The big problem is that this typically runs on a very, very short timer. The small problem is that, as you rush (and you -have- to rush) to find the correct position(s), it is very easy to go beyond that position. So you backtrack, but often, it is hard to pinpoint it, forcing you to fumble around... and waste even more time. The critical, unforgivable problem is that any failure is punished by an 80 second cooldown before another attempt can be made. As I mentioned before, that hacking element is critical to your investigation. 80 seconds is typically enough to explore the other elements, so you end up waiting. A. LOT. This game frustrates me like no other reflect studios game and it could be a skill issue but I could beat the other games just fine so I think it's rather the tedious gameplay and the killers that were taken straight from fnaf 2 (Tanner in particular). There is no reason for normal mode to have 10 nights and because none of the upgrades help you with threats dying at night 10 and having to restart is not a fresh start after having learned something new like in the other games, but another attempt for a mode I know all the mechanics of hoping that this time I can catch Tanner on the cams, like a fnaf maxmode but stretched to about ten times the length. Casual mode was fun but that is not the core of the game.(And why on earth is there a nightmare mode???)
