About Ovine Replica
Once an impoverished boy, Ecout Kanovos lands a job as a recruit for the authoritative force of the city of Enonoia: the Master Order Trained Hire. However, Ecout soon realizes that this work exceeds his expectations of delivering any sort of justice.
Amidst the chaos of sudden abductions and riots, an otherworldly atmosphere looms just beyond the recesses of the city's society. From a dubious state prison, Ecout frees Otis: a peculiar young man with a beastly visage who promises to return the favor with an ability to grant any wish.
Could this power repair Ecout's life before it crumbles along with the city, or will the events that follow mark his undoing? What awaits you in the end is yet to be found.

Time to 100%: ~ 8.7h at a slow reading pace Ovine Replica is a VN with multiple endings, that follows Ecout, a relatively new member of the police force. With his typical days being fairly routine, it all changes after one evening where things take a turn for the worse and his life is flipped upside down. Having gone into this free VN blind, I was taken aback by how long and detailed it was. It has 3 distinct endings with additional scenes in between, all depending on the choices you make. Each character is unique and likeable in their own right, with their emotions and thoughts being expressed well. The writing, though hard to follow at first, grew on me and added to the quality of this VN. However, at times the choices in wording ruined the flow of the text and felt disjointed. The story was well paced and gave each character enough screen time to move the plot forward. The background music was nicely used to help mix the ethereal and criminal atmosphere. The art was beautifully unique, with great backgrounds and character designs. All these aspects helped create a VN that left a strong impression and proof of dedicated loving work. Overall, I would recommend giving this VN…3 found this helpful

"Ovine Replica" is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game... except it's not a full e-book either! This just like the first chapter in some godawful fan-fiction and the "author" expects you'll go pay money or something to get the rest of it. This is never okay. As an advertisement for a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This is an advertisement for the full e-book which is called "Ursine Science" as the author tries really hard to give the fact it's a furry fan-fiction a bit of a glow up and positive spin, but it probably would have found it's audience (furry fan-fiction fans) if the author was a bit more up front about this high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about his imaginary girlfriends/boyfriends/furfriends whatever.
