Paign 2

Final note: Finished it ( though can keep on questing if wished ). Delightful, as a cafe where they keep refilling your aromatic cup ! One of the best. --- Loving Paign 2 as much as I did Paign 1. They have this light Gothic like kind of play that I can't resist (finished Gothic 1 Remake, amazing game). I recommend taking simple notes: names of NPCs in the city and camps, as it greatly facilitates the missions. Much fun for me again, kudos to the devs ! Will comment that combat doesn't interest me much in any game but the adventuring and exploring do. Disclosure: 71 y.o., I use my own C.E. tables or all my games to play at Avenger levels, so my playing isn't typical. For other older gamers so they can play all of this fine game: All here is Type 4 Bytes, Health, Mana, Experience, items in inventory. Example: You can change XP points to big values and if freezing said value, every kill levels you up. Enjoy !

Paign 2 is charming. It evokes an older generation of games, both good and bad. The controls can be unintuitive, especially on PC, but you can get used to them. If you really value graphics and soundtracks... this won't be a fit for you. However, it has a surprisingly expansive open world with many quests and secrets. If you enjoy exploring a big map and gaining power over time, this can scratch an itch.

I'll start with, the tutorial sucks. But once you get past the tutorial see my review below. -Press E to acknolwedge each thing its showing you -Hold LMB+ tap W-A- or D to swing left, forward, or right. If you’re looking for a mobile game that doesn't respects your time but still offers depth, progression, and replayability, Paign 2 absolutely delivers. I’ve personally put over 300 hours into Paign 2 on mobile, and that alone should say something. Very few games — especially on mobile — can hold my attention that long without feeling repetitive or predatory. Paign 2 manages to strike that rare balance between accessible and deep. The progression system feels rewarding, builds are flexible, and there’s always that “just one more quest” feeling that keeps you coming back. One of the things I appreciate most is how satisfying the combat and character growth feel once you've learned to use its clunkiness. Whether you’re experimenting with different strategies, optimizing your gear, or refining your approach to encounters, the game constantly rewards smart play and persistence. At the start it feels unfair — when you lose, you usually don't know why and it sucks, but as you progress…

I saw this game on reddit so I wanted to give it a try. I only loaded into the tutorial fight and the combat was so incredibly clunky and rigid that it was impossible to play. It was a maybe if I could swing my sword and even just moving felt bad. I have a pending refund going. Unless combat is fully and 100% redone, I don't see it going anywhere.

the controls are terrible and the cut aways made the game un playable locking your screen on the button layouts while you get beat up cycling through the pop ups and then when you die you have to reload the whole game and thats just the tutorial

Played just long enough to realize that the combat was the same AWFUL and unintuitive slog as the first Paign. Controller is supported, yes, but I have to hold down "Y" while tilting the right stick to chain swings? Why? The unnecessary step of switching from combat mode/non-combat mode to swing my sword is bad enough, but forced targeting and inability to turn or control the camera during combat is a wild design decision. And the fact that it wasn't updated for the second game is wild. It's sad, because I heard that this game had a great story like the first. I wanted to like it -I even booted this one up to see if the combat was improved- but, once again, I couldn't get past the terrible combat controls.
