Pandemia: Virus Outbreak is an extremely badly made mobile app-tier resource juggler game not so different in gameplay from Oregon Trail, except worse in all respects. While this looks like a ripoff of the numerous pandemic/Plague Inc games, it's not, it's super dumbed down. You're presented with a series of yes or no questions. Each answer reduces your stats slightly. Overall each question loses you more stats than it gains you, so it's just about beating the RNG to lose as little as possible to keep going in the game. As far as game concepts go, it's pure trash, but the technical delivery, believe it or not, is even worse than the game design. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of…5 found this helpful
In a few minutes, I completed the game, with 5/13 achievements. I recommend waiting for more content.4 found this helpful
The idea is nice (although not that original, everyone's been doing games about covid these days...), but the execution is lacking. I mean, the art is nice, but that gameplay... To keep it short, I just don't think it's possible to summarize, in a satisfactory way, all the complexity of handling a large epidemic with just a series of arbitrary binary choices (about which you are given little to no information) that lead to what feels like very, very arbitrary consequences.2 found this helpful
"Think you could do better than the people behind the current pandemic efforts? Well, this game will give you the chance to demonstrate your competence on the global stage!" Pandemia: Virus Outbreak is a very simplified "swipe left or right"-style game that is also available on mobile devices. In this game, the world is being plagued by a pandemic caused by infected rats that were transported worldwide via shipments of banana. As the situation unfolds, you, playing as a global leader of some sort, is in charge of making sure the pandemic is dealt with, by funding vaccine research, with minimal impact on the population's morale or happiness level.
Watch me play!
The pandemic was beaten! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIEbhCmfwzI P/S: For some reason, my cursor isn't at the place it should be. If you see me moving my cursor across apparent nothingness, I was actually underlining the texts as I read.
Pros
+ A rather easy game to play - managed to weather through the entire pandemic with pretty good stats on my first try using only common sense. My background in biology probably helped a bit too though :) + Very short game - 15 minutes for a full …1 found this helpful
Pandemia: Virus Outbreak attempts to turn the idea of a global health emergency into an interactive decision-making experience, placing players in a position where every choice feels like it could tip the balance between containment and collapse. The game revolves around managing a spreading virus while juggling multiple pressures at once, including public opinion, economic stability, and scientific progress. It immediately establishes a tone of urgency, encouraging players to think not just about what might solve a problem in the moment, but what consequences might emerge several steps down the line. This constant tension between short-term survival and long-term stability forms the backbone of the experience. The core gameplay is built around a decision-driven system that presents players with a steady stream of choices, often framed in a simple but effective format. Each decision impacts several interconnected variables, and maintaining balance becomes increasingly difficult as the outbreak escalates. There is a sense of accumulation in how these decisions play out, as earlier choices subtly shape the direction of later events. This gives the game a narrative-like flow, even th…
Card game with simple mechanics where you have to choose one path or another, not much of branching here. Anyway it is enjoyable, especially for the price author asking for it. It also could be a lot of fun playing with friends and family. I would love to see author adding more randomness and third-party(nature?) playing against you or more challenging events when player progresses into the game, to make things worse.
