8/10 Help a bunch of anxious Gen Z’ers find their path. But you gotta make sure they don’t lose it. What is it: Imagine this. You get to work and all your coworkers are shaking in their boots, unable to move and do the most basic things to get the job done. What will you do? How will you get your colleagues to fulfill their most basic job description? Well, put on your crown and start standing on business! Panik is unique in that the premise is almost as interesting as the puzzles themselves. I need to create an entirely new section in this review to give the game the proper service here… How cool is the premise: Very. You have nervous little people with all these fun abilities but they are useless until they are standing next to or connected to a king. Without getting too political, it's an uncanny reflection of the modern day workplace where people refuse to do anything except the bare minimum unless the boss comes in. Back to “What is it” There are 14 different people known as “Panikers”, each with their own ability, that you must use in a coordinated effort to occupy each goal tile. Imagine the concept of the Lost Vikings or Trine, but multipli…

A fun little puzzler about trying to figure out who goes where and how. I think the game relies a bit too much on misdirecting your first assumption compared to the real solution of a puzzle, but I can't deny that it's an effective way to make a puzzle satisfying once you figure out "the trick"

A brilliant puzzle game. The mechanism is easy to digest and deep in design space at the same time. The levels are well-curated and bring a huge sense of achievement when cleared. I feel like there's still potential in this game, and am looking forward to your next game. Some minor comments: - The game does not work well with Chinese input methods. If I type any key without switching to English, the game window will become very small and I have to go to the settings or restart the game to make it full-screen again. - The first levels of each section does a good job of introducing new painkers, but sometimes I still want more information about what exactly they will do, like their exact ranges of movement. - Only when a painker is not in PAINK mode, can you click on it and see where it could go. I hope I could also do this with other paniked ones as well in order to better plan out my movements.

🔸 EXPECTATIONS: a grid-based logic game 🔸 REALITY: a grid-based logic and pathfinding game 🔷 Panik is a grid-based logic and pathfinding game where the objective is to bring the panikers to the goal tiles. The panikers are anxious people who can't initially move, each with a unique moveset. One of them is the 'king' who can always move and makes others move, too, if standing next to them. 🔹 It has 7 chapters, with 20 levels each (25 the first one). Once all are completed, the 8th chapter unlocks with 10 more levels. Each chapter introduces new panikers, usually in pairs, for a total of 14. In some levels you'll use one, the other, both or mixed up with previous ones. 🔹 This pairing is intentional, as I found many times one paniker's way of moving highlights, or contrasts, with the other. Sometimes they're just thematically related, but at all times their combinations make up for very interesting levels. 🔹 The levels' difficulty goes from very low (for those initial levels on each chapter that act as tutorial) to high, and it applies per chapter. There's no 'clues' system or hints, but you can skip levels to a certain degree. It also have secrets and achievements for the p…

I've watched this game be born, evolve, and finally, release to the market. Countless improvements and details have made it into an intense game where you have to think carefully about your moves. It achieves something very difficult for puzzle games: it doesn't get boring. I had a fantastic time with it and I can't help but recommend it.
