june 2023 edit: undo got patched in after all, now the game is easily recommendable. path to gaea is a fantasy hitman go-like with a fox protagonist and a wisp companion. and unskippable dialog with a slight text display sound. can't do anything to make sentences appear instantly or make them go away, but they're relatively fast and movement is possible at the same time. a mixture of tutorializing and lore, and the only cutscene is skippable and doesn't play on retries. 25 levels unlocked one by one, level number in the pause menu. turn-based movement to avoid spikes and enemies, pull switches and move columns. killing has to be done from the side or behind, typical sly fox shenanigans, unless you pick up a power orb that lets the wisp kill enemies from a distance. sweet. only works in a straight line though and has limited range. the game allows you to move over hazards, only blocked nodes are invalid moves, so be careful. no move limit or counter, explore and experiment to your heart's content. undo got patched in, works after dying too, and there are checkpoints here and there. there's a brief saving icon in the corner w…
FoxMania: The Quest To Review All Fox Games On Steam!
Conditions for inclusion:

-The player character must be consistently a fox; the fox must not be merely a skin or a character optiond
-Must have 100% working Steam achievements
-Must not be a visual novel
Game #28: Path to Gaea This is a short, yet excruciatingly slow, turn-based puzzle game. There are 25 levels. It took about 2.5 hours to beat the game, and about 4 to achievement hunt it. Puzzle design is OK, with a few good moments. The puzzles are based on parity. You can walk between squares on a 2D board. Every time you move, enemies also move. You can kill enemies by moving onto them from the side, but some enemies are invincible because they share the same parity as you, meaning they'll always be on the wrong square and you will never be able to catch them. So you'll have to figure out how to avoid them, or kill them with a projectile attack. Early levels have spikes which rise and retract on some spaces every time you move, but in an unintutive pattern that you'll have to follow closely to avoid getting impaled. Later levels have some new enemies wi…

A good small grid-based puzzle game (like SquEnix GO games). Among other things, it looks very good. For this type of game it's very aesthetically pleasing and has this nice fairytale-ish feel.

Fun game, even for someone that doesn't usually play puzzle games, but oo collectable items. If you don't pay attention you can mess up an entire level which is frustrating but fun to figure out....eventually c.c. I haven't finished just yet so i will do an edit if i think of/find anything more. I did find a bug on Lvl 18. The game seemed to count both myself and the very first spider you interact with as being dead and got locked in place. I did try to recreate it but with no luck. I wish the game would be pushed more. Going to streamers that like to check out indie stuff is a great option. Pirate Software being a prime example. I hope that the dev/s keep making more games. Just going off of this game alone, you can create some cool stuff, so keep at it :)
