Build a thriving medieval city while managing complex social dynamics—where every policy decision on immigration, religion, and taxation directly impacts individual citizen happiness and can spark unforeseen consequences. Balance resource production chains, technological research, and political tensions as you transform a struggling settlement into a prosperous society that must weather both natural disasters and the competing demands of your diverse population.
Patron starts off similarly to other games in the genre, but then veers off exploring social intricacies and what it means to truly run a society and not just a city filled with automatons.
Each individual citizen in the town has their needs, desires and issues troubling them or making them happy. Some citizens are more concerned with immigration, while others are more aggravated by tax-related issues. If the citizen’s view on the subject is in line with what the town government (YOU, the player) is doing, they will be happy. Works the other way around as well.
CONSTRUCT AND UPGRADE
To make the best of the opportunities in this new land, you will need to construct residential houses, farms, production plants, manufacturing buildings and dozens of other buildings needed to harvest the riches of the land.BALANCE SENSITIVE SOCIAL ISSUES
Every decision you make as Patron will be met with different reactions from different social groups. I hope I am wrong but the game seems to use generative AI for it's story-mode 'characters' and their voices... its rather obvious... and I wish they were more transparent with this - I would never have bought it if I knew.... This was really disappointing and I had to stop playing it. I thought it had some great potential too... it would need ironing out to make it an excellent city-builder but the low-effort characters really spoil it. I would rather see stick men drawn on Paint...
Repetitive and dull. Story mode is only and endless request chain from the king, without any story, reward or pause. Tech tree is boring, too. Production chains are simplified.

This game creates no sense of urgency to accomplish any goals and lacks fun gameplay. Games like Foundation, Farthest Frontier are way better options.
