Somehow, this year I have now played TWO gay furry shmups that directly reference Alien Soldier on their title screens. What are the chances? (The other is A Whole Wolfrush) Some rough edges here (I do not like the movement inertia and bouncing off obstacles), but this is a weirdly charming and extremely silly arcade twin-stick shooter in the style of Total Carnage. A bit easy on Normal mode, but I'll be happy to swing by and give Hard mode a try, plus the DLC modes that are teased so much on the main menu. Big DOS shareware-era nostalgia.2 found this helpful
Only played the game on normal so far, I'll check out other difficulties later though because this is awesome. Really high effort passion project with tons of charm. Gameplay is really solid and while it's pretty easy to start the later stages get pretty brutal which is nice. I never figured out how to use mines effectively but that's probably a skill issue.
