Played the game for 1.5 hours, here are my thoughts. Very minimalistic arcade-style game. Simple controls and an easy game to pick up. Despite having a fully compatible controller, I wasn't able to get it to work correctly. Not a big issue as keyboard/mouse works just fine. I looked at the developer website and they seem to specialize in mobile games and this game feels in-line with that. The enemies and bosses are quirky in design, but seem to fit the game. My only gripes: the power-ups for special weapons are instantly used. I'd like to see it made as a choice option instead. Also the automatic targeting for the two guns doesn't seem to always track what's closest to you if you are near multiple enemies. The cost is quite low, but for what you're getting is appropriate. It can be a good time-killer for a half-hour or an hour when you need something simple & quick to play. This game is absolutely ridiculous and I love it. I saw the dude who made it make a post on reddit, and I thought "That sounds like fun, and I have a buck to spare." I'm glad I did. It plays really well, being movement focused is definitely to its benefit, and the visual design is just fun.3 found this helpful
A simple but entertaining game. It lacks more content but for its price is ok. The core game loop is fun so I recommend it.2 found this helpful

Power Gunner is one of those simple arcade games that's easy to pick up and surprisingly hard to put down. The core idea is straightforward: your ship automatically fires at nearby enemies, so the focus shifts away from aiming and onto movement, positioning, fuel management, and staying alive. It gives the game its own identity instead of feeling like another bullet hell clone. What I enjoyed most were those tense moments where you're one hit away from death, desperately weaving through enemies while trying to grab a health or fuel pickup before it's too late. Snagging a power-up in mid-air and turning a doomed run into a recovery feels incredibly satisfying. The retro arcade presentation fits the gameplay well, and the escalating waves, bosses, and score-chasing kept me saying "just one more run" more than once. If you're looking for a simple, affordable arcade shooter with solid gameplay, satisfying risk-versus-reward decisions, and a classic high-score chasing mentality, Power Gunner is an easy recommendation.1 found this helpful
