PESTICIDE is a compact first-person shooter built around a wonderfully ridiculous idea: take the familiar job of pest control, replace ordinary insects with vicious humanoid cockroaches, and give the exterminator enough firepower to turn an infestation into an urban war zone. Developed and published by Nuclear Dog team, the game embraces its low-budget indie identity rather than pretending to be a serious military shooter. It focuses on quick action, grotesque enemies, exaggerated violence, crude comedy, and the simple pleasure of clearing areas packed with hostile bugs. Players assume the role of Mr. E, an experienced exterminator entering an abandoned city that has become home to an army of man-eating cockroaches. There is also a rescue objective involving Katty, giving the rampage at least some narrative purpose beyond killing everything that moves. Storytelling is clearly secondary to the action, however. The premise mostly exists to justify moving through filthy locations and eliminating increasingly troublesome pests. This simplicity works in the game's favor because there is very little downtime between the player and the central attraction. Combat is designed around speed…

I like the aesthetic and theme, and I know it's free, but the gameplay is clunky and not fun.
