I've played it already a while back, or well, I've tried to play it, because back then I've experienced a game breaking bug which made it impossible to move on. I was around half way through the game. I've picked it up again and thought I'd give it another chance, but I'd honestly hate to see myself waste more time on this. I don't find it enjoyable at all. The story has been rather lame so far, even though I appreciate the sentiment, the world feels sort of empty, you can't do much besides doing the quests (and technically grind for two collectors achievements) - that's not enough for me. So yeah, I think it's rather boring and wouldn't recommend it - especially not for the full price. I got it for around half off and still feel like I paid too much for it. Edited because I forgot the word "not": It's certainly not enough for me, I'd expect more for the price.

If I had to describe Petit Island in one sentence, it would be: a charming idea that completely forgets who it’s trying to appeal to. The game leans heavily toward a very young audience and it shows in every aspect. The gameplay feels overly simplified to the point of being almost patronizing, with little depth or challenge to keep anyone beyond a child engaged. What could have been a cozy exploration experience ends up feeling empty and repetitive. On top of that, playing it on the Steam Deck is honestly frustrating. The controls are clunky and poorly optimized, with awkward responsiveness that constantly pulls you out of the experience. Navigation feels sluggish, interactions lack precision, and overall it just doesn’t feel like the game was designed with handheld play in mind at all. In the end, Petit Island feels like a missed opportunity — visually cute, but ultimately dull, shallow, and forgettable, especially if you’re looking for something with substance or emotional impact.

A very cute game about childhood memories and giving to the next generation. It is adorable with a cute soundtrack and easy mechanics. I highly recommend for those cozy and Little gamers out there <3 It is a quick play and does not take much time to 100% the game. There are two handy guides made to help you 100% the game if you get stuck. It constantly goes on sale so I recommend waiting for it to go on sale before purchasing.

Petit Island is an incredibly cute game with lots of fun and charming characters. The island looks beautiful and feels like the perfect size: not too small, but not overwhelmingly big either, so it’s easy to explore different areas quickly. Both the main quests and side quests are enjoyable, which makes the whole game feel cozy and relaxing to play.

It wasn't horrible, it was cute and cozy but there was so much backtracking and a lot of 'go here and then go back' missions multiple times. So I found myself going back and forth so much I just got bored and irritated. It's slow and there are no warps and I get that it's meant to be that way just for me I found the go back and forth quests really draining and boring. Like ok I've been down this same path 4 times now... It was just not what I wanted from the game.
