Phoenix 2 is a game I can pick up for a few minutes and suddenly realise I have been playing for much longer than I planned. It is a vertical shoot em up where I am flying through waves of enemies while trying to avoid a ridiculous amount of bullets and lasers. The controls are simple, but the game gets difficult pretty quickly because surviving is not just about staying out of the way. I also have to learn when to use my ship's special abilities and how to deal with each type of enemy. I really like that the basic idea is easy to understand but actually takes practice to get good at. The ships are probably the biggest reason I keep coming back. There are more than 100 ships to collect, and they all have different main weapons and special abilities. Some are much better for staying alive, while others are built around doing huge amounts of damage. I like trying different ships because it can completely change how I approach a mission. A ship with something like Teleport or Barrier makes me play much more defensively, while something with a stronger attack lets me focus on destroying enemies before they become a problem. the bigest issue i have with this game is how you keep getting kicked back down from what ever ranking you were like ace and what have especialy when you are a working class person like me . if you dont care about getting kiked down rankings its not a bad game .
