About Photographs
I think you should play Photographs.
I tried to make it a little bit different from most games. It sort of mixes puzzle and narrative in a ( hopefully ) interesting way. You might get stuck on some puzzles, but you should never not know what you need to do to proceed.

So what do you actually do? Well, you search around and solve puzzles, and as you do so you'll be developing a scene in front of you and hearing a story. I want to the story to really stand out, so the game has got really beautiful pixel art and top notch music, combined with gameplay and narrative beats that individually would do a pretty good job of telling that story, but come together to really make something special.
It's a pretty short game too. I would say just over three hours. There are loads of games these days and who has time to play them all? I've tried to keep things as condensed as possible rather than add filler, to be as respectful for your time as I can be.

Each story is in a different setting and has completely different gameplay mechanics. It ended up being a LOT of work, but It's kind of necessary: The gameplay itself has a hand in telling the story, so what works for one tale wouldn't work for another.

I don't think there's anything else like it out there, so if nothing else, It should give you a unique experience.
So yeah. That's my pitch, If that sounds interesting to you, give it a shot!

EXTREME violation of privacy at the end where they turn on your camera?? like why? why EVER do that? with no warning and just doing it. On top of no warning besides "tragedy puzzle game" in the description for the ending to the first story for a suicide that is very graphic for pixel art. The puzzles are simple slider games (2 of them), tanagrams, match 3, and a very easy to solve 'physics' thing where you launch a ball into a targets - but it shows a path all the way so there is no thinking involved really. Like with that the most complicated level I just moved the bars until it showed I had it right then went for it. I do like how the game shows the story through the puzzles but it does it literally 1 layer deep and then the story is over - no hard puzzles and no complex thinking. The stories don't make you think about it outside "yeah that tracks" and "wow that sucks". Like the only one that I would put any thought into is the prisoner story and my only thoughts are: why did you let these people do any of what they did? It should have ended the moment you were starving but I guess that would have been too short for the game. Also currently it is on sale for 60% off (4.79) and th…1 found this helpful
It's a unique game, that's for sure. But if it's a /good/ game is another matter. The stories are interesting (but clichéed for the most part). The pacing in the narrative is a bit too drawn out for me. The stories each have different types of puzzles - which is a good thing since I think I enjoyed the first story's puzzles the least. The rest are not like it at all. The sequence after doing the five main stories is tedious, the idea of it being a difficult decision is notable, but the rinse and repeat of it makes it too drawn out. The ending I got was enjoyable to watch through the credits... but it was sooo slow that I can't make myself go back and watch the other stories' endings. It's a short game and worth playing enough, but only if it's drastically reduced in price. I would be very disappointed if I paid full price for this, especially when a few puzzles were glitchy. There was a lot of replayability on the other games but for me this is never likely to be launched again.1 found this helpful
Photographs is a pixel art point and click game about following a group of people through their lives, all of whom are destined to meet tragic fates, thanks in part to the choices they've made along the way. The puzzles are interesting and varied, with some ups and downs in quality. You can see some tales reflected in other places, but most stand alone. There's multiple endings, which raises the replay value. I saw my first one after about three hours of play, and decided to stay with my choice, harsh as it was.
Nice pixel graphics, lame stories, horrible game play.
Photographs is a moving short game about regret. and original blend of narrative and puzzles. It's a series of short episodes, each telling a story about a tragedy, eventually tied up by a credits-epilogue sequence that might even make you cry. It's powerful narrative for such a short and seemingly simple game. It has a very interesting and original concept, even if the execution is not always perfect. It's well worth experiencing. The soundtrack, the pixel art and the voice acting (narrators) are all extraordinary. The gaming format alternates between a short snippet of narration of around 5 seconds, followed by a short puzzle that should take a few seconds to solve. The narrative is made rich by many details. A hint on what to photograph. A dollhouse-like background setting, which allows you to see what different people are up to. The puzzles also intermesh with the narration snippets by, in a certain way, representing the mental and physical challenges the character is going through. It's such a smart and subtle form of storytelling, it makes me lament the game didn't get more traction. The game has some pacing issues, though. As the characters begin to face their big dile…
A very creative and aesthetic game! The way the narrative and the puzzle elements fit together in each segment is very clever! I also really liked the references in between the different narratives. I strongly recommend the game if the description or the screenshots of the store page seem appealing to you!
