✦ AI summary

Pixel Fish is a simple yet addictive casual game about eating other fish, with a satisfying progression system and chill gameplay loop that keeps players coming back for "one more run." While some players find the concept engaging and worth the money, the game's minimal mechanics and lack of animation detail may not appeal to everyone looking for more depth or complexity.

Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/RqI8qe5J-co It's a casual game about eating fish. It's pretty simple, and while part of me does wish for some animations of my fish chomping down on the other fish that thought was fleeting. I find that when I like a game, I really like it. And Pixel Fish sucked me in for 2 hours. It's chill gameplay also provides a pretty addictive gameplay loop, and the upgrades always feel within reach or demand that "One more time!" play through. Best money I've spent today.

It worked great for a while, and the gameplay loop was actually fun. The reason I can't recommend it is because after getting 30 achievements, five hours in, it stopped launching properly. Every time I launch the game now, I'm taken to a weird placeholder debug screen. It's basically the main menu, but everything's maxxed out, and I can't navigate to any other menu or start the game. I've tried pressing every key to see if I accidentally accessed it through an accidental button press. No luck. The game's last update was in 2024, so I don't have high hopes for a patch. If you want to play, I'd say go for it, but just be prepared for it to crap out on you after a bit.
