Eat Fish, Get Achievements is such a simple little arcade game that I was surprised by how easy it was to get into. I control a fish and spend my time swimming around an underwater world while eating smaller fish to grow stronger. I liked how straightforward the idea is because there is almost no learning curve. I can start playing immediately and the goal is always clear. The main gameplay is built around choosing which fish I can safely eat while avoiding anything that is bigger than me. Some of the fish also have special abilities or change the rules of a run, which gives the simple eating mechanic more variety than I expected. I enjoyed having to pay attention to what I was approaching rather than simply rushing around the screen. The unlock system gives me another reason to keep playing. Completing challenges allows me to unlock new fish with different abilities, so there is a nice sense of gradually discovering what the game has to offer. I liked that the new characters are not just cosmetic changes, since their abilities can actually affect how I approach the gameplay. The achievement focus also fits the game surprisingly well.
