About Pixel Starships
✦ AI summary
Build and command your own starship in an 8-bit MMO universe, managing everything from construction and crew to battles and diplomacy against real players. Master ship systems, programmable AI combat, and deep strategy across a persistent world where alliances clash and exploration rewards the bold.
From one of the most successful Mobile Game Kickstarter campaigns of the year comes Pixel Starships!
Pixel Starships is the world’s first total spaceship management game in an 8bit massive online universe. In Pixel Starships, you command every aspect of your ship from construction to battles in a single persistent world.
Key Features -
● Build Epic Starships of your own design.
● Many races, aliens, factions to command and conquer.
● Battle it out with other real players in a single massive online universe.
● Manage diplomacy, recruitment, research, exploration!
● Control ship's power and limited resources. Discover epic weapons.
● Build and deploy support crafts to augment your Starship.
● Cross-section full ship control and battles.
● Explore planets, discover the secrets of space.
● Form alliances and battle with your friends to achieve victory!
● Program situational AI commands for subsystems and crew. Allowing automatic combats and offline play. (from ship level 4 after building command room)
Note -
Pixel Starships is totally free to play and is designed for fair balance for all players. However, there are in-app items that can be purchased for real money to help speed up progress or offer cosmetic and unique improvements. Real currency purchases are not required to fully progress to end game. There are also idle mechanics in the game akin to EVE or Clash of Clans. This is not an FTL style rogue-like game.

What Steam players say

A mobile port yes, but with more depth and ambition than any mobile game I've ever played. This is however a double edged sword, Steam players expect more polish, more depth and a more refined product, much more so than a mobile game. But saying that, what Pixel Starships has to offer can not be rivalled for it's complexity in the mobile market, and quite frankly there are a lot of PC based games that lag far behind too. If you like exploring the intricacies of AI, strategy and the myriad of options available in a game, this game is for you. It's not a pick up and be the best kind of game, skill is very important, understanding the minutia of the AI options and what can be achieved with them takes time, and you can learn all this while waiting for your rooms to upgrade. You can of course speed it up with the in game currency of Bux, which can be bought with real money, and at the high end of game play it almost becomes a necessity, but by that point you're already hopelessly lost in the game, and the communities that spring up around it. For the best experience possible, it is highly advised to join a reputable fleet, that has training fleets and resources to help you in your jo…15 found this helpful
The AI coding aspect is unique and makes this game interesting for me.
Pixel Starships demonstrates that a compelling space strategy game does not need cutting-edge visuals to leave a lasting impression. Developed and published by SavySoda, this free-to-play title combines starship construction, crew management, and online multiplayer systems into a surprisingly deep package. From the moment players assume command of their first vessel, the game establishes an addictive progression loop centered on expanding a humble ship into an interstellar powerhouse. Its retro pixel-art presentation gives it a distinct identity, but beneath the nostalgic exterior lies an experience packed with mechanics that reward long-term planning and experimentation. The game's defining feature is its extensive ship customization. Every room placement matters, whether it is a shield generator, weapon bay, reactor, or training facility. Building an efficient layout becomes an ongoing challenge as players unlock additional technologies and larger vessels. The Steam description highlights complete control over starship design, and Pixel Starships delivers on that promise by allowing captains to tailor their ships around specific strategies. Some players may focus on overwhelming…
my iq has increased by 10% :p
did not expect the scaling to get horrible after ship 7 before 7 I was encountering 6s and 5s (like normal) and rekting em but after reaching 7(there is tons of stuff to upgrade which is fine) but I SHOULD NOT be finding lvl 12s in low gold which is bascally just 30 wins from the start of the game... and u can get up to 1 league higher in lvl 6
