After naming your character—there’s no customization—you spawn near a farm where you’re pretty much free to wander around and explore. However, you’re better off progressing through the game by following the first quest offered by the village chief standing right next to you. A much more important reason to take this quest is that you get a free sword; there’s no hand-to-hand combat, and exploring the world without a weapon will end badly very fast. The first task is a classic extermination of slimes around the farm. After selecting the weapon on the inventory bar below, all you have to do is press the button to attack. There are no fancy combos or special moves, so you simply get close enough and press the button until an enemy dies, or shoot from a distance with ranged weapons. In this case, aiming is automatic, but you have limited ammo. There’s a short cooldown between attacks, so you can’t mash the button, but it’s fast enough. After a while, and when facing stronger opponents, you also need to use a shield to block some of the damage. Although you have health regeneration and enemies don’t require many hits to die, you still need to be careful with bosses or stronger enemie…

What an absolute gem of a game! Its got everything you want from a RPG, mounts, summons, gear progression, bosses and so much more. Personally I feel "the grind" is on the easier side of things when it comes to farming gold for gear upgrades, I wouldn't mind it being a little harder, but after saying that, everything just feels balanced (a tad on the easier side of balance, but balanced none the less). I'm a 'make numbers go bigger' type of player, and this scratches that itch, along with the progression itch being catered for. Gameplay for me is paramount, so the graphics don't ever matter, I'm happy with 8K or 2bit. There is some lovely atmospheric music in there. The price is a steal, id be happy with it being a little more costly, it has smashed my own personal 'cost to hours of fun' metric. A solid purchase.

It's a very distilled ARPG. Although the preview is in Chinese, the entire game is translated to English, with the exception of the squirrels' ID in the snow area for some reason... Which has no impact on the gameplay at all. In the end, I was honestly left wishing there was more. It fully supported my xbox controller with no issues. I had fun, and I think it's well worth the 10 USD asking price.

Well i gave it a chance. This is as barebones as it gets. Ive played roblox games with more complexity than this.

Pixelegend is a pixel-art action RPG that wears its retro inspiration proudly while quietly building a surprisingly ambitious adventure beneath its simple exterior. Developed and published by 躲猫猫游戏, the game drops players into a fantasy world that feels immediately familiar yet inviting, where danger and discovery coexist across wide maps filled with enemies, townsfolk, and secrets waiting to be uncovered. The visual style leans heavily into classic 2D aesthetics, with chunky sprites, colorful environments, and readable animations that favor clarity over flair. Rather than attempting to modernize its look with excessive effects, Pixelegend embraces a clean, old-school presentation that evokes memories of early action RPGs while remaining accessible to modern players. The gameplay loop revolves around exploration, combat, and steady character growth. You begin as a relatively weak adventurer, taking on modest tasks that slowly introduce the game’s systems and rhythm. Early encounters are manageable, but they quickly establish the importance of positioning, timing, and awareness, as enemies are more than capable of punishing careless play. Progression is tied closely to completing q…

Recommended, with caveats. Pixelegend is genuinely great. I played it all day and well into the night, and as a game developer working on somewhat similar games, it really inspired me. It gave me that rare “I want to make something like this, but better” feeling. I have a lot of respect for what is clearly, most likely, years of work poured into this game. The graphics, animations, level design, and overall craft are impressive. It has a distinct design sensibility that feels different from most Western indie games, with a strange and refreshing mix of ideas, references, and old-school adventure/RPG energy. It feels rough in places, but it is also an absolutely beautiful gem. That said, it also feels unfinished or under-explained in some areas. Near the end, progression became unclear, and I’m not sure whether I missed something, hit a bug, or reached content that simply is not fully there yet. Some boss fights are very hard, which I actually like, but I also could not find diamonds anywhere, even though they seem necessary for high-end gear. Since the game is so obscure, there is basically no information online. There are also odd design choices, like a beautifully mad…
