About Plague M.D.

Plague M.D. is a medieval medicine simulator.

Become a quack doctor stuck in a backwater village in the 16th century. Your task is to diagnose and cure the patient using the available tools, ingredients, recipes and books. This is a difficult game against time, misdiagnosis and procrastination can lead you to the stake, and every choice has consequences.

Well, what can you do? At first, your methods are scarce - drain blood, amputate a rotten finger. But over time, you become increasingly sophisticated, learning therapeutic treatments and surgical skills. Eventually, you face the horror of black death and put on a plague doctor mask.
  • The visual style of the game is pleasing to the eye. Each model is lovingly hand-drawn on paper.
  • Real diseases and authentic treatments. The bloodletting? Leeches? Yes, please. And don't forget a blow to the head instead of anesthesia.
  • Lovable characters. Our favorite is the parish priest in a deep depression. It is recommended to treat it with St. John's wort.
All events of the game take place in a fictional universe. Please do not use the healthcare skills acquired in the game on real people - it is dangerous and can cause harm to life and health.

Great concept and art style. The gameplay loop is simple to master, overall fun, and immersive. However, there are major elements that need enhancement: 1. Ending Accessibility: The path to the good ending is not intuitive. Without researching or consulting a guide, it's unlikely a player will achieve the true ending. Items like glasses, coins, and lockpicks are easy to overlook and their use is not straightforward. 2. Character Development: The game mixes elements from "Pathologic" and "Papers, Please," but lacks depth in character interactions. The priest is the most engaging character; others can come off as annoying. I recommend: - Enhancing Character Impact: Instead of complicating the gameplay, introduce more story-driven characters who significantly influence the narrative or endings(like EZIC in Papers, please). - Expand Side Events: The between-day events hint at intriguing possibilities but could be better executed. Adding roles like helping villagers could lead to an ending where you're seen as a 'people's hero', or perhaps a darker path where you curry favor with the local baron, choosing cruelty for political gain. - Increase Interaction: Characters should …

Interesting and pretty fun. I enjoy this game. I'm looking forward to playing much more and uncovering more of the story.

Eh? It's got a good art style and a neat enough concept, but its story feels pretty empty (You are pretending to be a doctor to not get burnt at the stake) and the game has enough small technical glitches to make it feel unpleasant to play. Games in the flash game restaurant manager like genre need to be reliable in how they respond to you clicking, that's the only way they can effectively scale up. The medieval manuscript visuals were what got me to try the game, but unfortunately, that's all the game really had going for it for me.

Great and funny game for you who always felt that you should practise medicin (in some obscure ways I guess). You are back in medieval times, you are (maybe) a doctor, you will maybe even cure some patients, you may even DIE in the end. Or in the middle or beginning of the game. Give it a try, you will soon learn how to make some kind of cataract surgery, and not to forget scurvy incisions. HAMMER, SAW AND SCALPEL will be your best friends to survive...

This is hands down the most disgusting, soul-crushing, 9-to-5 job simulator I’ve ever played! Towels can randomly get stuck on tables, making them unusable, the sound effects are none, and I barely made it two hours in before feeling completely drained AND running into many bugs! The repetitive tasks are endless. It’s like doing chores, but somehow worse. Damn it, congrats to this game for earning my very first negative review! 💀

This is a pretty fun game. The art style is cool, and it's a "Papers, Please" esque game with less storyline and serious choices. I played on easy mode, and it was just chaotic enough to be still enjoyable, fun, and immersive. However, I do agree with the other reviews that I read; it is similar to a flash game. But I like flash games, so it didn't bother me. 7/10
