Bad things:
In 15 minutes you will see everything that this game has to offer. Every few levels you get an weapon upgrade but these upgrades stop at level 8. After that you only get more and more things to shoot at appear at the same time on the screen. I was able to get to level 16 and it was ridiculous. The game was throwing 8-10 objects at the same time and they do bonce off from one another so there are many object going straight down to make you lose instead of bouncing from left to right like in the first 12 levels.
Conclusion
This is a school project that is fun for the first few minutes and after that you get bored and never play this again. Overall score 2.5/103 found this helpful
"Planet Cracker" feels more like a tech demo than a real game. It's 3D rendered, which is nice, but the gameplay is very shallow even for a bullet hell/shoot 'em up. You've only got a couple of weapons, not a lot of variety for "enemies" (just rocks and debris). This compares poorly to the hundreds of other shoot 'em ups on Steam, unfortunately. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessaril…2 found this helpful
Before I played Planet Cracker, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
1 found this helpful
The game is okay, maybe need some improvements on the game mechanics and power-ups. It is also a little bit dull maybe because of the background is not moving? I suggest the stars/planet will move even if just a little.
