PomoTrain: Rabbit Town

A simple, cozy idle game where rabbits ride a train to earn coins and hearts, with light upgrades, gacha collection, and a pomodoro mode to let you focus on daily tasks. This game falls into the idle desktop genre, which means you can continue working on more important tasks while it runs quietly in the background. Although you can ignore it for a few minutes at a time, you’re still encouraged to click a few buttons here and there to collect rewards. The objective of the game is to let rabbits board the train and then press the “Go” button to start it. Seats in the cart are limited, but this isn’t much of an issue since there are plenty of rabbits waiting to fill them. You can either wait for the rabbits to board on their own, nudge them by clicking on them, or press the whistle, which quickly makes rabbits jump onto the train. Each passenger pays a number of coins when boarding and rewards you with hearts once the train stops. You can also earn additional hearts by clicking on the rabbit-shaped cloud that slowly forms from the train’s smoke as it travels along the rails. i love this game! great idler for working for a set period and getting a bunch of impactful upgrades after, of which there are plenty for long term progression so far. at first i wished there were better options for pausing mid pomodoro if something comes up, but it's honestly been a nice kick in the pants to stick to the exact 25/5 schedule, which helps a lot with maintaining the flow of things without pushing too hard or resting too long. lovely little tool, the right level of cute and fun without being distracting.

It's one of my favorite Desktop Companions, it's colorful, cute, nice background effects, pomodoro, you can choose which villagers appear. You get new villagers from a gacha that works with one of the 2 currencies in the game, hearts from your passengers each time they travel with you, and you can upgrade your train, station or new buildings with coins. They are still updating it with new themes, we had the sakura blossom spring one and now the summer one with a beach bg. And if you have any issue after an update or error they make sure to answer and fix it quickly! Works great on Mac.

The functionality is very limited, even for an idle 'productivity boost' thing. Several features are basically non-functional, the music player doesn't connect to other apps like spotify etc, so you only have the 5 default tracks, the calendar/planner cant be updated in any way and can only display a google calendar and the built in youtube browser just sits on a blank screen indefinitely. There's also a 'keyring' which does literally nothing but clutter your screen. It has almost no functionality for resizing windows, meaning it will completely fill your screen with just two widgets open, limiting its usefulness even more. Progression is pretty non-existent so you'll be staring at the same few art assets for days, which, yeah they're cute and well-drawn Could be a cute and helpful tool with a bit of refining and some extra functionality but for now I don't think it's worth choosing over other products that set out to do the same thing.
