About POWERNAUT 2

POWERNAUT 2

STORY
Thousands of years after the events of Powernaut Vangardt, millions of cloning towers have been built over the surface of a strange planet. A single successful clone, VAN, awakens at the top of a tower. Scared and confused, Van begins slaughtering the monsters that have infested his tower. Reaching the bottom, a security failsafe goes off, with giant mechanism tearing the tower down as Van flees upward. Upon reaching the the top again, a teleporter sends him to the top of a different tower. As he watches it crumble to dust, Van turns to the vast field of towers. He smiles. He has found a purpose.

This is a mix of games like metroid, rockman, contra... but obviously without reaching the quality of any of these. All very 8 bit. The graphics are good, although sometimes a bit confusing. the sound is ok. It's cheap, so I'm giving it 7 asterisks. * * * * * * *

This game is as tough as described. It's old school NES hard. It bears a lot of similarities to Mega Man in both difficulty and design. A few enemy types seem like they're lifted right out of Mega Man 2. While the levels are randomly generated, they seem to be generated from premade chunks, so you will see familiar territory as you're dying again and again. If you don't mind a lot of death, and want to try some seriously hard old school run and gun platforming, this is the game for you.

What can I say that the "About this game" section hasn't said already? It's pretty hard, haha. Definitely harder than the first game. But the progression also feels better! If you like old school Metroid and Mega-man, this is a fun bit of nostalgia inspired gameplay.

Nope. Too short, too hard. Felt like it was luck to not get hit while dropping and luck to get past the dark level. Then it just repeats the same 4 zones.
