About Press D to Die

Press D to die

Die with just the simple press of a button! Unlike in real life, suicide will actually help you by leaving behind a corpse. A corpse can be interacted with using other abilities in various combinations in order to reach previously unreachable places.

Solve problems in your own way

With a few exceptions, any challenge in which you can place corpses could be solved in a ways which we as developers didn't think to be possible.
This is because of the the abilities the Player Character has and especially how these interact with corpses
"what are these abilities?" (a question you definitely just asked yourself) - well, that's for us to know and for you to find out!

3 distinct Levels

With a total first time playtime of about 45min to 1:30h (depending on familiarity with 2d platformers), each of the 3 levels has distinct themes of gameplay, visual aesthetic and original music.

We are aware of the games comparably short length, but we can confidently say: If you're looking for a short and unique platformer experience, Press D to Die is for you!

There are three levels, which took me 1 hour to beat. This game blends puzzle and platforming skills nicely. The puzzles are engaging and the platforming control is fluid and responsive. The grappling mechanic really pushes the puzzles to the limit and is really satisfying to use once you "get it". I definitely felt a light bulb turning on when I went from "how the xxxx could I reach that with only 3 deaths" to "duh, I can do it with 2". The second level has some epicness to it too (the small-picture and big-picture). To me the price ($2) is justified although the fun was a bit short. I can see having a few more levels. The idea definitely has some potential to do more.

Full disclosure: This game was made by my friends I was able to check the game every now and then throughout the years and give feedback. I really enjoyed the levels, the game levels were well paced and very fun in spite of my high death count, they really made me stop and think and it was always fun to try and figure out when and where to press D. The music and the art style were chef's kiss too. This is my first ever review on anything so I wholeheartedly recommend you give this game a try to make the day of a few up-and-coming game devs.

Great little puzzle platformer. The puzzles and platforming are combined in a very fun way and if you haven't played a game where the central puzzle solving mechanic is unsubscription from life then this game will be a real mind bender. The game contains 3 levels and each of these levels feels unique and poses you with interesting gameplay challenges. Overall a solid 1 hour experience that (for the price) is very much worth getting. Oh... the music also slaps btw. Disclosure: I am a close friend of the developers on this game and even worked and advised on this game myself so this review is biased.
