Yugioh + Hearthstone + Slay The Spire with some adjustments that make the Yugioh actually work. Fusions regress to their original cards when you destroy them, meaning you still have material even if you lose your boss monster. You can attack a target with multiple creatures, meaning that walling is more about building up board interactions rather than just having a high stat card. Beating over creatures damages life points, 1 per, and players have 10 LP. There's three front row and two back row slots, and the back row can't be attacked until the front is gone. All of this makes the board state actually quite dynamic. You can rotate your enemy's cards to open up vulnerabilities, swarm over big creatures, take a lot of damage if you don't protect your swarm, tactically steal and debuff and discard creatures to open up weakpoints, etc. You are still reliant on your hand not bricking, but every fusion draws you a card and so it's *much* less bad than it could be. The art, design, and writing are also charming. They're weird and indie, but they work, and I'll take club penguin illustration homages over ai slopcards any day. A Surprisingly Deep Deckbuilder with Strong Archetypes this game deserves more popularity. People say this game is similar to Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I’ve never played that, so I can’t speak to how much it borrows from it. What I can say is that the card mechanics here feel well thought-out and make deck building genuinely enjoyable. Cards are clearly designed with distinct archetypes in mind—things like token generation, multiple attacks per turn, cycling , or sacrificing health for greater value. It’s fun to discover synergies and build around specific strategies, and there’s enough variety that experimenting with different approaches doesn’t get old. Even without knowing the inspirations behind it, the game stands on its own with tight design and satisfying combos. If you enjoy roguelike progression and creative deckbuilding, this one’s worth checking out.

As someone who loves Yugioh in all formats, but hates roguelikes and even the term roguelike, I love this game. Yugioh just happens to be a game that blends perfectly with roguelike runs, and this game does an excellent job of capturing that combined magic. Very much a hidden gem, personally I prefer this to any other deck builder.

At first I had mixed feelings, as the game feels a lot different from the demo version. I read a review mentioning the same thing, so I hesitated for a while before purchasing the game. However after playing the game for a while and unlocking cards and pre-built decks as well as learning the synergies, the game's much more fun now.
