I’ve never reviewed a game on steam, so I’m glad Pritto Prisoner gets to be my first. I stumbled upon PP while scrolling one of the indie game subs on Reddit. I was immediately intrigued once I saw the art style. I headed over to steam to check out the game trailer, and without hesitation downloaded the demo. To be honest, while it looked like a fun game, I wasn’t sure if the controls would be able to capture me the same way the art style had…I was wrong, controls are responsive! The game had me laughing out loud at the sheer silliness of using poo (which is pink or gold depending on if you “doo” it right lol. Defending yourself with pee had be cackling. Playing as the robots is just as fun as playing as the animals, I wasn’t sure if it was going to feel balanced, but again, I was wrong! I’m hooked, thank you devs for such a stellar game.

Each play session is short, yet I keep thinking “just one more time,” and before I know it, time has flown by! The adorable world design and we can having two robots chasing means no pressure—even if you're not great, it's easy to play! With so many different types of animals, you'll want to try them all! The stages are incredibly diverse, making strategy fun. Whether you play solo via online matchmaking or create custom matches with friends and family using extreme rules, the gameplay options are endless! Cross-play with kids use Switch is a definite plus. This game is so Japanese in the best way: cute characters, totally ridiculous theme, and then somehow your friends are yelling like it’s esports. It’s a 4v2 party-asym thing — four animal “inmates” trying to pull off objectives and escape, while two robot guards hunt you down and toss you into timeout. Matches are quick, so even when you get wrecked it’s more “lol run it back” than “ugh uninstall.” What surprised me is it’s not just a meme game. Once you learn the maps a bit, it turns into real teamwork + mind games — especially picking the Robot side. Worth it if: you like Japan-y art/vibes, chaotic co-op/PvP with friends, and games that are easy to start but you can actually get better at. If your friend group likes goofy multiplayer that still has some bite, this one’s an easy recommend.

Super fun, super chaotic, and way more addictive than I expected. Definitely worth picking up. The 4v2 setup actually works really well.

What really surprised me about Pritto Prisoner is how much I ended up loving the characters. They’re weird, expressive, and somehow feel distinct even with the game’s rough edges. Each one has their own personality that comes through in little moments, and it makes you actually care about who you’re playing with. The party-style mechanics are where the game really shines. It turns everything into this chaotic experience where anything can happen.
