PROXY (2020)

There aren't any reviews for this... err... game yet, so I figured I might as well fix that. Proxy is not a finished game. It says it's in Alpha 1.0, anyways. You have your choice of two characters, which decides whether you'll be playing the game like an over-the-shoulder shooter or as a brawler in the vein of Anarchy Reigns. There's really not much in the way of content; you walk around in a small arena, pick up infinitely spawning items, and shoot or punch the same four bad guys in endless waves. You have some abilities unique to either character, but ultimately you can just keep pressing right trigger and be fine. Bugs abound, as it is an unfinished product. Animations often break, especially as the brawling chick since her attacks cause more ridiculous ragdolling on dead enemies. As the gunner, your weapon tends to vanish if you try to swap to a different one or use his grenade ability that the controls fail to mention you have. Ultimately, this feels like one of those proof of concept demos that a university student submits to a professor at the end of a semester to say "Yeah, I guess I could make a videogame"; I honestly don't know why it's on Steam. Wave based shooter/fighter, and based on the description it seems to be a technical test. I mean its free, and i only encountered a few bugs. Looks pretty and i got a good few minutes out of it. Slow mo shooting was my favorite. Better than other free things I've played!

PROXY is endless wave shooter on relatively small arena. Although graphics are nice, animations can be good and wonky at same time. Standard mechanic of endless waves of enemies with increasing number with each wave and some simple items and 3 weapons. This is not fun. It feels like chore. It's not even worth trying out, because nothing makes that game outstanding. Just another wave shooter.
