About Purgatory Fell

It is December, 1955. Your daughter has gone missing. Recurrent nightmares have been haunting your sleep, forcing a steady descent into madness. Your dreams bring about a variety of introspective, phobia-induced situations to wrestle with. And, something appears to be calling for you.. Downward...

This is the first chapter (Prelude) .. in a planned episodic story-driven adventure game in which you gradually uncover the mystery of your daughter's disappearance, and the nature of your soul. My goal here has been to invent an artistic style and feel that I have been wanting to experience myself in VR, and also to set the stage for a larger series. (This Prelude may or may not be "Canon" in the official chapters to follow.)
Purgatory Fell uses a Standing-Room, trigger-based locomotion, giving you full control over your changing inertia. This increases the control you have over your movement, which also tends to alleviate potential motion sickness. In this game we have the usual object grab/throw mechanics, and climbing/falling, but also we explore new technologies in effort to evolve the VR artform:

►► Fluid physics that you can push around with your hands, and displaces around your body as you move through it.
►► Volumetric Lighting & Fog rendering (realistic smoke with real volume and density)
Don't forget to check your system requirements - this game requires a VR-ready system.

I played on Windows Mixed Reality (Samsung Odyssey +) and it worked fine. At first I thought I couldn't grab, but then I realized that there just wasn't anything to grab, until you get to the ladder in front of the Mansion(?). If you're looking for a storyline, this game is not for you. However, if you enjoy that descent into madness feeling and don't mind a couple of minor jumpscares (not horrible ones), then you will really enjoy this game. I got a slight Silent Hill vibe from this game at parts. I did hit a glitch where I walked outside of the office building and into air and then couldn't get back in. But it was fine, I just brought up the menu and started the level over (it has checkpoints for every new area). Simple. I thought this game/demo was well done and look forward to the full game.

DO NOT BUY!!!! attention all epic gamers, this game is not worth $7.99!! I paid $1.99 for this mediocre piece of ♥♥♥♥ and was still mad after playing it. The game can be completed in 30 minutes if you take your time but if you have a general idea of how to play horror games youll finish this trash in 15 minutes or less. The thing that pisses me off about this trash would be the completely misleading description of the game itself. "Explore the declining mind of a man who cannot sleep. A progression of nightmares reveals hints about who you were, and what you are becoming", What?? There is not a single clue about who you are and where you are, specially when it comes to exploring. If one completely disregards this then I can tell you that there was ONLY 1 JUMP SCARE! almost 3 in which you are directed into the scene where the "jump scare" is already predicted by the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ background music and hearing the bugged steps looping in the background. One thing is for sure, if you buy THIS DEMO like game and dont get your money back then you will fall as a sore loser like me, I wish I played this first when I paid my $2 before the 14 day period ended.

This game seems cool although i keep on glitching in the falling office part (at the start). I just keep falling through the clouds. Is something else supposed to be happening?
