The game is simple... Try to sleep. We can't promise that the night will be uneventful, however. Between apparitions of ancient interdimensional entities to a city that never sleeps, overcoming your insomnia may prove to be difficult.

An extremely bold and abstract venture into the horror genre, Insomnia does a phenomenal job in conveying the horror of sleeping in a constant gnawing fear of a mysterious and malicious force out to get you, all in the absence of luminescence. After each sleep, the player progresses to a new level, each one unique and instilling anxiety as you proceed throughout. The ambient stormy weather serves as a constant reminder of the player's ultimately insignificant power. The devs clearly put a great deal of effort into creating the atmosphere of the game and as a result it's a very good short story horror adventure. 8/108 found this helpful
After playing this game I felt something. It wasn't fear neither arousal. My anti depressions were measured at 20mg and after this game 60mg. I'm not sure if there's a link but the knife next to me is looking very tempting. The game was too dark for me to even play once it got into the "dream sequence". Not to mention when I would hit "ESC" to bring up the menu in game to pause the game itself... the entire thing would crash... and I'd lose my progress. The settings were even grayed out for me... so I couldn't adjust the brightness or the gamma of this game at all to be able to see the environment any better. I wouldn't recommend anyone spend their money on this game... and I would advise anyone from "gifting" this game to anyone you don't intend on trolling.1 found this helpful
The game is unsettling, and its suppose to be. It seems like as you reenter your dream states the sequences get longer and theres more things to explore. I cant wait to see how this fleshes out.1 found this helpful
