About Suspense: Madman's Dreams

Step into a world where fears become reality — and you are not just a witness, but a participant in the nightmare.Suspense: Madman's Dream is a narrative-driven psychological horror inspired by real manifestations of mental disorders. Here, imagination and delusion are not fantasies — they are ways of existing.Take on the roles of observer, creator, and madman — all at once. Explore a hospital, a magical forest, and a 1950s English house through the eyes of those whose minds are on the brink. Feel their world collapse: walls distort, memories blur, and shadows come to life. Each environment is a reflection of the character’s inner world. Everything you see is rooted in reality — but filtered through a fractured, distorted mind. Piece together fragments of the story, examine the details, and find meaning in the chaos to understand what truly happened. And maybe — just maybe — you'll answer the question:
Can anyone truly help a mind that's falling apart?

From the Developer:

Hi everyone. I'm already flattered if you're reading this. My name is Oscar. I'm a former doctor, and I've had the experience of working with people suffering from psychiatric disorders in a mental hospital, including in the forensic psychiatry department, where individuals who committed terrible acts due to their illnesses are treated.I want you to understand how difficult this is. With mental disorders, people often don't even realize the severity of their condition. Some of the stories of the mentally ill amazed me deeply. Some of them have drifted so far from reality that their stories resembled science fiction movies or games. Some elements may seem illogical from a gaming perspective, but believe me, they are logical if you refer to psychiatric textbooks.Enjoy the game!

Suspense: Madman's Dreams, developed and published by Tessermind, is a psychological horror experience that stands out for its thoughtful and immersive portrayal of mental illness, specifically schizophrenia. Rather than relying on conventional horror tropes or supernatural elements, the game invites players to explore the fractured reality of individuals struggling with their own minds. This approach creates an intense, often unsettling atmosphere that goes beyond simple scares, aiming instead to foster empathy and understanding through its narrative and gameplay design. The gameplay primarily revolves around exploration and puzzle-solving within environments that constantly shift and distort, reflecting the unstable mental states of the characters. Players find themselves navigating through diverse and surreal settings such as a clinical hospital, a mystical forest, and a 1950s English house—all rendered with a dreamlike, psychedelic aesthetic. This ever-changing world challenges players to interpret the fragmented storylines and piece together the emotional and psychological struggles that the characters endure. The narrative is delivered through subtle environmental storytelli…

New Review: I don't know what the dev was thinking, but the recent changes are horrible. Suddenly the game is super laggy. They changed the voice lines, which they were corny but amusing, now they are boring Old review: This game deserves massive props simply for the singing note at the beginning of the game. It is AI gen music and vocals? Yah probably, but it is damn good, and I don't think I've seen a single other video game that implemented this idea. This is a perfect example of where AI can dramatically improve a game in a 100% positive direction with zero negative. Imagine all notes singing to you rather than just reading or VA reading it. I also might add that the lyrics themselves are very good, despite the dev not being a native English speaker. Anyone trying to discredit this implement has no idea now truly amazing it is.
