About Raccoon Tales

Use the shadows, cover and distractions to keep away from villains who wish to stop you from completing your heroic raccoon goals like the powerful sleeping homeowner, the insidious pet dog or maybe worst of all, the terrible raccoon fangirls who will stop at nothing to snatch you up for devious purposes. There's also robots and stuff but that's way later.

Really charming game with simple but fun game play3 found this helpful
I played first with mouse, but found the steering clunky and inaccurate. After I switched to keyboard the game was more playable. (But what the hell happened in the Tiger Mansion?!? In the area around the tiger, the keys/directions are messed up!) Annoying were the big, invisible collisions around objects. This leads to failing missions and unnecessary replays. Graphics are rough and repetitive. I bought the game in hope, that my child could play it. The raccoon is quite cute and the levels are short. However, as there is no possibility to zoom out and gain some overview on where to go, it's a constant backtracking to find the right way / the coins and once you found the objectives, you have to go back to the start (in the earlier levels). The game would have potential but in this stage, I can't recommend it. Save your money!2 found this helpful
Charming little raccoon stealth game! It's only a couple of hours long even if you're trying to get everything, but each level is full of interesting unique situations -- it's not just differing layouts for a repeated scenario, it's almost closer to a short adventure game with stealth gameplay. Every level has new things to avoid, but also custom goals to try, and many levels have secrets (some a little *too* secret if anything, but none of them mandatory luckily)... The gameplay is easy enough in theory, though it's unfortunately hampered by some frustratingly vague hit detection that make some sections feel much more demanding than they're probably meant to.... (Although, this does get a little easier if you go into the settings and switch from mouse mode to gamepad mode -- I wish I'd noticed the option sooner, and I'm not sure why it doesn't switch automatically!) I will mention, don't be put off by how dour the first level is -- it's one of those "starting from the bottom and pulling off gradually fancier heists" stories, and it goes upscale quick (I was worried I'd be stealing dumpster food from diseased dogs for a while, heh!) (It's also one of those games that ends o…1 found this helpful
