Raiden NOVA | 雷電NOVA | 雷電新星

Fun VS-like with a bit more shmup-iness to it. Not the best looking or playing of either genre it takes from but it's a very solid 3/5 imo. Worth picking up at a discount for sure.

Wow... the graphics are abysmal. Like inexcusably bad. Was this going to be a switch game? I don't understand how they could have released it in this state. No settings to change either. Other than that, it plays well enough. It was fun. Takes an hour or so to get to the end of stage 5. Should be 5 CAD. I paid 11 CAD. I guess I'll play it twice to get my moneys worth.

This is not a Raiden STG....but its the best survivor-like out there. Bravo Moss!

i saw this and my initial reaction was "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this looks so cool" the flash game i played on coolmathgames.com was more fun. other reviews go into more detail better than I ever can, but I can testify the whole thing feels effortless, and lacking in soul. also some of the ingame graphics look AI generated i paid $9 for this game and it feels like it'd have been worth it at $3

Think Vampire Survivors, but not "number go big", with Raiden ships, an arcade mode, and twin-stick shooting action. People often compare it to PS2 games, but I think that is a positive thing for this game, the aesthetic is really good.

How to ruin a once-great shmup franchise. [i]Vampire Survivors[/i] has been the in-thing for sales and popularity, so corpos gonna corpo and ape the trend by turning [i]Raiden[/i] into skilless slop for the chill-out masses. ([i]And I thought[/i] Raiden V [i]was bad![/i]) The fact that [i]Nova[/i] is technically a twin-stick shooter is the flimsiest of excuses for not actually being, in reality, an [b]auto-shooter[/b]... 'cause every other aspect of the game checks the boxes in spades. The only nod I can give here is to Go Sato, but his talent alone cannot save [i]Nova[/i] from amalgamating with the soulless grey slurry known as "modern gaming." [b]Total Auto-Shooter Death.[/b]
