Players have mixed experiences with this Raiden III port, with some praising its improved features like native TATE support, higher resolutions, and gamepad compatibility, while others report significant performance issues including stuttering and frame rate drops during gameplay. The high price point relative to previous versions is a common complaint, particularly for those who already own the earlier port, though some appreciate the new arranged soundtrack and technical improvements. Performance reliability appears inconsistent across different systems, with some players reporting smooth ga
Had to refund because of stuttering/freezing problem which started happening already on the first stage of game and was pretty frequent. Each second or third time I destroy enemies, game stutters for a moment (and also framerate drops to 40-50 from 60). Tried various options (fullscreen, windowed, steam overlay on/off) but that didn't help. I wanted to play it cause it's Raiden III with some QoL features and new arranged music, but... - The game breaking bug Jaimers mentioned didn't occur to me. I feel like this is the most important thing to address about this port since it's a big concern brought up by one of the community's GOATs. - The second most important thing is the price: it's pretty up there considering not long ago the version UFO distributed was cheaper. The game is the largely the same so if you got that version, I'd say don't bother unless you get a big discount. So what does this version add? - Native TATE, higher resolutions and more window option. It just works. Last version you had to do a bit of fiddling to get things set up and now I can just go. Also native gamepad support. Tho I have to note that this is to be expected in this day and age. - Pristine performance. The original version worked very well too, but this goes a step forward. The game out-of-the-box plays at optimal conditions and further tweaking with Special K is not gonna make it work faster. The input lag is LOW. - Two new soundtracks! (and some bonus loosies) One is more EDM centric, the other one has more band instrumentation. You can pick and choose which track plays in each stage. My biggest complain is that the remixes ar…3 found this helpful
Y'all better stop being mean to Raiden III. Works perfectly fine on Windows and Linux. The soundtrack is great if you like techno, especially the type you would hear in the early 2000s. The gameplay is pretty great too, although it would be greatly improved upon in Raiden IV. All my homies like Raiden III.2 found this helpful
