Fly at Eli Field and Carl Henson Field
Eli Field is a well-equipped flying field in Monticello, IL. It’s the home flying field for Horizon Hobby, and many of the aircraft in this title were developed there! With side-by-side paved and grass runways, and plenty of open space, it’s the perfect place to learn to fly.Carl Henson Field in Eugene, OR is home to the Eugene R/C Aeronauts flying club. Its well-maintained grounds feature a lush grass runway surface that any golf course would envy. This wide-open locale is another great place for beginners to build their skills.
Learn from Experienced RC Pilots
RealFlight's training modules help take the mystery out of flying model aircraft. An experienced pilot talks you through the use of flight assistance features and gives you the knowledge you need to succeed.Upgrade to RealFlight Evolution
When you are ready for over 300 more aircraft, more than 75 flying sites, and other features like custom content and the full suite of Challenges, you can upgrade to RealFlight Evolution. A discount is available on the RealFlight Evolution store page.Controller Required
RealFlight requires a controller to run and supports a large number of options:- Option 1 (Recommended): For the best experience, we strongly recommend the Spektrum™ InterLink® DX simulator controller. It is specially designed for RealFlight and all your controls will come pre-configured by default.
- Option 2: Use your own RC Radio with an interface. The Spektrum WS2000 wireless dongle works well for this, and there are other 3rd-party wireless interfaces available. (Requires additional user setup.)
- Option 3: Use your own RC Radio connected directly via USB. This transmitter feature is becoming more commonplace. (Requires additional user setup.)
- Option 4: Use any 4-axis game controller such as a gamepad or an advanced flight stick. (Requires additional user setup.)

recomended for novice RC Helicopter/plain pilot. it is a must!
After working with support to fix my transmitter, the game is pretty good. learning lots, would recommend to new pilots
This isn't so much a game as it is a realistic simulator for flying remote controlled airplanes. It's probably not something you'd buy if you are just looking for a video game to play, but if you are trying to learn to fly remote controlled airplanes, especially those from Horizon Hobby's many brands, this is the ticket! It's really good, and I wish I'd found it sooner. While I've learned a lot from repairing my own real life crashes, my planes are disappointingly beat up, and I've never really been able to progress much beyond SAFE's Basic mode in most of them. I think if I'd had this though, that wouldn't be the case. It feels a lot like the way my planes fly, helping me to build experience without crashing them in the Iowa winds. I'm playing strictly on SAFE Intermediate mode right now, learning the habits of bringing wings pack to level and learning to pull back on the stick when turning, things the SAFE Basic mode handles for you. Another good thing is that this game worked really well with my Frsky QX7 transmitter that I use for flying these planes in real life. I just plugged in the USB to the computer, made sure to turn it on as a joystick/controller, and then inside Real…
I found an issue with the SLT6 controller that was provided with my purchase - it was not recognized as a controller despite being plugged into a USB connector on the front of my Windows 11 PC. After a lot of plugging around over 6 different "front" USB slots I finally, in desperation installed a new USB card in the back, loaded drivers for it (the card, not to the controller) and it was recognized and functioned as intended. I'm relieved it worked, but feel the developer should, after 2 years of comments regarding this issue have developed a better, plug and play solution.
so fun for new rc pilots
I found flying the models to be quite similar to the real models . I have many years of model aeroplanes and hours of the real model flying and a class C pass in real gliders At almost 90 years of age I found my way round the simulator fairly easy , don`t be afraid to click on all the options to see what happens.
